I really don't like carrying a lot of cash when I'm travelling. It seems like I remember hearing that you could charge the amount you want to tip the butler or concierge to your cabin, and get a chit that you could put in a thank you note and hand to them. Has anyone done this? We'll be on the Dawn, if it makes a difference.
TIA.

We are 5 females: Grandma, Mom, Auntie, and 2 15 year old girls. It says it will sleep 5, but how? The floor plan shows a queen in the bedroom, looks like maybe a pullout in the second room, but where does the 5th person sleep? Is there just one bathroom?
TIA.

I really enjoyed reading the info you posted on the Empress of Britain/Carnivale. My first cruise was on the Carnivale in 1976, before I was married. I went with a friend, and we booked an inside cabin (just out of college, not a lot of $$$), and I can still remember how the cabin was fitted out in (real) wood. The bathroom was HUGE by ship standards, almost 1/2 the size of the cabin. I was definitely hooked!

I'm sure this was asked somewhere in this thread, but I can't make the search function work. I'm wondering if I can book a cruise and pay for it, then pre-pay for shore excursions, then apply my Compass Rewards Certificates. My cruise will only come to around $1600, but I have 4 $500 certificates, and would like to use them all. Anybody done this yet?
Can you charge tips for the butler to your cabin?
