  1. We just got off a cruise on the Carnival Dream and had an incident in the Steakhouse. We were forgotten by our waiter and people that were there after us were eating their steaks and we never even received our salads. We complained and in a few minutes, were brought two plates but we ordered steaks and these were Surf and Turf. We told them we did not order that and they hurried away to cook two filets for us. They were terrible and tasted burned on the outside and almost raw on the inside. Again we complained. They brought us a bottle of wine for our trouble and the girl at the door came by and told us there would be no charge for the meal. We were not even brought a check to sign. Well, a $70 charge showed up on our account anyway. We went to the front desk and complained but they would not remove the charge even though we didn’t sign a check. Can anyone suggest who we can contact to talk about having the charge removed? I don’t understand how they can charge us without us signing a check.:( We never did receive a salad.

  2. Can you elaborate on the problems with Embark/Debark like the time you arrived at port, when you tried to get off the ship, etc. Problems getting through customs or getting luggage?

As I stated in the above post, embark and debark were NOT BAD. We took a tad bit longer to debark than usual but not bad. We were in our car and driving home by 9:45 AM. We had no problems. We were the first cruise out of NOLA for Dream and they asked us to arrive later than normal...so we did. We got there around noon and processed right on through. We were eating lunch in the Lido by 12:15.

  3. Who is debarking the Dream in New Orleans today? Can't wait to hear from you!

Embark and debark was not bad at all. It was crowded and messy but not too bad. Ship is in great shape but we all had problems with rude crew members. Not your typical friendly Carnival crew. Our cabin steward and wait crew were wonderful but others like bar crew were not.

Disappointed that there was no Guy's Burgers and the Lido food was aweful. One day it was difficult to find something we liked for lunch. Wound up eating pizza and burgers. The food was not good. A couple of nights we did not even go to the dining room. I don't know....something was just different and missing.

Shows were about the same as other Carnival ships. Reminded us of the Conquest shows.

  4. Got an email from Carnival asking us not to show up at the port until 1:30 PM for boarding and they would get everyone boarded by 4:00 pm. Said they had to do "routine testing" after previous passengers got off and we got on. This screams NORO to me. Has anyone had this before or know what it's about? Curious minds want to know.

  5. It seemed to me the day we were in Roatan it would have been easy to find a guide just walking off the ship. We were a little late getting off and it appeared several Victor Bodden guides were still available.

Victor's web site indicates the Port rules require advance booking, but several people were outide the gate hawking tours.

We had the same experience. Several tour companies available with no reservations. We talked to one lady who offered for $20 per person but we went with Victor Bodden because of his reputation on CC. He charged us $25 per person.

  6. Ok can you book Victor's tour when you get off the ship ? We don't want to book on-line because we are just not sure what we want to do there. I went to Roatan last month and I 'm going on the Voyager of the Seas March 23rd. I already went to Gumbalimba Park and I really was not impressed with that excursion.

Yes, we just got off the Voyager OTS. We didn't have any plans for Roatan. Got off the ship, walked to the end of the pier, through the market place and found Victor's spot. We booked a tour with Ivan for $25 per person with no reservation.
