Yes, the RCI Cuba FAQ section now clearly states that you can take excursions other than theirs ONLY if you booked before June 16, 2017.

I read the RCI letter to say that you can take an “organized tour” and I have confirmed with Havana Journeys that they meet that standard. How could RCI prevent you from leaving the boat, with the proper Visa, etc, to do that?
-
Please let everyone know how it worked out. We are the ed of January. I see on Facebook that the group I have scheduled, Havana Journey, is still operating. Are you getting your Visa on board RCI?
-
OK, I have reservations in January with Havana Journey for a full day tour. They say they are a private company and are in compliance with the new guidelines. Any comments?

Next question is whether RCI will process the Cuban Visa (for $75) if you plan to use a third party tour provider

If there is another forum and I havent found it, please let me know.My mother (late 50s) and I (late 20s) are completing our second Viking cruise this October 27th for Cities of Light Paris-Prague (last was Rhine Getaway Oct 2015).
We are very excited and all booked. If you have any advice for this tour, please let me know!

We will be on the Viking Star in June at C190 in Langelinie. How close is that to the Bus 26 stop at Indiakaj?
Love your posts! Extremely helpful across a broad spectrum of topics.

We are on the Bergen to Stockholm cruise leaving on May 29, 2016. Any guidance on shore excursions from past experience?

We chose Havana Journeys, a private company, and not only got a great walking and 1957 Chevy tour, but had tour guides who were free to have an unbiased discussion about life in Cuba. Those who took the excursion offered by RCL said their guides were giving the Cuban government version.
