It is one of the cabins with a larger balcony(~90 sq ft, as against astandard balcony which is 42 sq ft), but in saying that the field of view is restrictedforwards by the hump wall

    Pete

Thank you Pete. Can always count on you!

  2. We were in Cabin 13050 and it was brown. Pretty nice room and nice shower...except for the water pressure was almost nonexistent after the first day for hot water. Think there was a water break somewhere but never heard for sure...there was a lot of wet carpet for days at the back of the ship though on several decks and it really smelled.

    Thank you for your help!

  3. We had a cabin on deck 13 and, yes, there was some noise from above very early in the morning and sometimes very late at night from tables and chairs being moved for cleaning and preparation purposes (I believe we were beneath the buffet). It wasn't a big or noticeable disturbance to us (we've experienced worse in what were 'better situated' cabins). If you're a light sleeper it may be for you - earplugs probably would help in that situation.

    Thank you!

  4. We are booked for next week and room #13095. Although some cruisers have speculated about the noise from Deck 14 was wondering if anyone has actually experienced staying on Deck 13. We have a great position midship but if we can't sleep who cares!

I know it's been a while, but how was 13095? We are assigned this stateroom and these forums are making me nervous. The shade. from the overhang, I don't mind. What does seem troubling is the noise issue. Would ear plugs at bedtime solve the problem if there even was one? Thank you!

  5. Hello all,

We're booked for Alaska this July on the Solstice. My husband meant this as a couples trip for my birthday, but we may have to take our youngest who will be 1yr.

I see on the site there is a Toddler Time session of which parents must be present. Is there any other service that would allow us alone time?

    Thank you :D

  6. I was on the Solstice to Alaska last July and I am taking my dad this August. Not much nightlife on Alaska cruises. If you want nightlife I would choose another cruise.

Thank you all for your input! Alaska sounds a little slow, but there's no changing of the itinerary coming here. This is one of my dream cruises along with a different Alaska itinerary and an around the world which I'm saving for my 50th.

We'll just make the party with each other the wonderful people I know we'll meet.

And there is always the casino...

  7. Good Evening,

I, in my early 30's, and husband in his early 40's are cruising Alaska this summer for my birthday on the Solstice. I would like to know what the night life is like. Dead, lounge-like, outdated or upbeat. We are not party all nighters, but would like to stay up past midnight since we're leaving our girls at home this cruise. :)

    Thank you for your responses
