  1. We leave in September 2017 on Escape.

We were originally booked in BB with food &a drink package and $50 OBC. We got the email for bidding and bid on each available haven unit. We decided to increase the odds by bidding in the good range which ended up being $1200 X two (hubby and I).

We fell in love with the Haven based on many of the CC reviews and other sources, we wanted it!!

I did some additional research after placing our bids and we decided to book the Haven Spa Suite directly instead of hoping our bid wins. I looked at the whole "deal" and for me it was worth it.

Full Haven access and spa access.

    $325 OBC

    250 mins of free WiFi

    $50 shore excursion

    Food and drink package

When I looked at the total package and the cost of just buying the Haven and then compared it to my bid (hoping I would win) booking the Haven straight out made sense. The additional perks were ones that I wouldn't get from bidding.

Just thought I would share my experience.

  2. We are on the August 26th Escape and originally paid $2780 (kids sail free) for a mid ship balcony and received the below offers with minimum and maximum bids. We submitted a bid for all of the below except the mini-suite as it does not seem to be much of an upgrade.

    H2 $1500-$3000

    H3 $1500-$3000

    H4 $1000-$2750

    H6 $750- $2500

    H7 $400- $2000

    Mini-suite $25-$400

  3. We're experienced cruisers, but this is our first time on NCL. We just got an upgrade email for our Sept sailing. They allowed us to bid on everything above what we booked, up to the giant 3 bedroom suite in The Haven. When we look online, it says The Haven is sold out. We are past the payment date, so why would they let us bid on sold out cabins? Appreciate any info you can share. Thanks!

Hello, which cruise in sept ( date and ship name ) please. I am also on September and haven't seen an email yet.

  4. I can see the confusion over my post. Yes, I have a foggy recollection of the port and I do believe it is Nassau. My husband is a cop so I am not concerned with guns necessarily but am a little uneasy seeing larger automated weapons openly displayed. Really not a big deal it was just surprising. I do appreciate security for sure which is why I married a cop [emoji23]

  5. You need better clothes. Well, clothes more suited to cruising.

I wear a bathing suit with no pockets and a beach coverup that either doesn't have pockets or has shallow pockets not safe for carrying the card, which is why I originally asked. Additionally at night I wear a dress and I don't own any dresses with pockets...

Which is why I asked the question and have so generously received so many suggestions.

    To each his own ultimately.

    Happy cruising [emoji924]

  6. Love the keychain, thanks for sharing. I've only been on one cruise before and I brought my elderly mom, she always had a purse. This time DH and I are going and I was looking for another option. I don't remember there being a hole in the key card on my NCL cruise. I like this idea though. Thanks so much.

  7. Hey! I am going to be in the Bahamas next week. I want to get the day pass. Should I buy it in advance? From whom? Or should I wing it and hope they are not sold out when I get there?
