The pool is a swim-against-the-current endless lap exercise pool, one of the only places in the NCL fleet to get in a real swim.

OMG really?  This might just be a deal breaker. I used stationery cords on the Escape, but this would be great!

  2. I had this same question. I'd booked for two, and then we added my nephew to the cruise. I called NCL and the rep told me to simply add him to our dinner reservation once we get on board; the number of available reservations online is not the total number available, so it's not a problem at all to add him to our table reservation at the time we asked for.

  3. I noticed it says you have to notify travel insurance if you get an upgrade..does anyone do this?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

When I received notice my bid was accepted, and I then received an updated confirmation email, my insurance rate was already modified to the higher price. It took me a while to figure out why I was charged more than my bid....that was why.

  4. A little conflicting, why would you ask for obc for, "your mistake"?? this is the clear risk of "bidding". It's not a mystery.

BUT, you have been given accurate information- for you to be prepared. It WILL be noise, every night, including pounding bass. I have been in these rooms 4 times- (as I mention, what I expect when I get the $349- in 2017/$299- in 2016 fares with no supplement for single. ;) expecting it again this season)

Bring a GOOD pair of ear plugs, if it might be an issue.

Only because my dumb mistake pretty much was an overbid to make it the same as if I'd booked the room at regular price--and maybe the person will take pity on me and throw me the equivalent of the extra perk I didn't receive (original was mini-suite booking, so only got meal & bev). Can't hurt to ask? Serves me right for bidding so distractedly! Kids! Don't bid distracted! ;p

Usually music doesn't bother me, and regardless, we are definitely both looking to get away, and love aft balconies! :D

  5. Don’t be disappointed, you just as easily could have gotten noisy neighbors, kids running above you at all hours, you never know. Enjoy the perks and the aft views, you will have a great time!

Thank you for your encouraging reply, Rileyz! We really did love having an aft, so I'm looking forward to having one in Bermuda as opposed to the one we had on the transatlantic last April! Hopefully I'll be able to convince the CSR person, when I call, to throw me some onboard credit to assuage my silly feelings about my mistake. (yn)

  6. I hope it's NOT on deck 8.

Yup. It makes me even more disappointed. I would have never chosen this cabin on 8 even paying for the full amount under normal booking. I totally feel stupid and bamboozled. Just two days before I'd gotten another spammy upgrade lottery email, so figured I had time to re-bid. Nope. Next year I'll know better.

Anyway. It's nice it's aft. And we'll bring earplugs--hopefully my mother will be able to sleep. We've never been to Bermuda, so I have no idea how restless things get on board whist docked. :loudcry:

  7. Word to the wise (not me). I made upgrade bids and sort of forgot about them, and was going to go in and change amounts (lower/delete some of them) this week. I sail April 13 to Bermuda on Dawn.

They just accepted my offer. For an aft suite. The crappy thing is, this was one of the amounts I meant to change to lessen, and now I'm paying way too much (it's not a deal). I can't believe they accepted the bid this early. It's my guess the room wasn't sold and they went in early to the advantage bidders and found a stupid bid (basically mine).

I'm thinking I might try to call and see if there is any chance they will give me another perk for basically paying the same as I would with a new res, but I highly doubt it.

    How. Dumb. Am. I.

But I certainly didn't expect they would do the Advantage bid acceptance 2.5 weeks out! Darn it!

  8. Can someone please let me know if this is doable?

We are booked on the Escape for this August, we are in a B1 aft balcony 9320. I understand we can bid only two categories up, so we want to try and bid on the Haven H5, however the category just above the B1 is the spa balcony and then the Mini. It seems like we wouldn't be able to, but this is all new to me.

    Thanks for any help!

Hi! I'm a B1 (same cabin this weekend, in fact!) - and all of the Haven types were presented to me as a possibility to bid on. I've only put a bid on for the aft suite, though, because I really want to keep my aft balcony. :)

  9. If it's for this weekend I would guess they've started processing upgrades. We're sailing Saturday, had bids on H5 and H7 since early March. For over a week there were 3 and 6 cabins available respectively until I checked late yesterday morning and both showed sold out. A couple hours later I got our upgrade acceptance email. I can't imagine 9 high end cabins sold out that quickly.

Thanks for this! Yeah, same here. I thought it was weird that so many were ending up sold out suddenly, especially with regular aft balconies still available. We are Sunday, so should know soonish.

  10. LTL, FTPoster here, too. I appreciate this. I'm on the Getaway this weekend, and have been watching the pricing on my aft balcony and haven aft availability. I've noticed there really hasn't been a change in aft balcony pricing, but the haven prices have been dropping about $200/wk this last month. There were about four of those suites available a month ago, but currently the site indicates only one is available. The price has not dropped below $6099, either. It would be interesting to see if those other 3 were purchased, or given to bidders. I've had a bid in for the aft suite, but who in heck knows what their true deal is. I'd agree that it's definitely date driven. Interesting that the regular aft prices have not fluctuated, either.
