WE are taking Ovation of the Seas in July to Alaska. Our plans on departure day is to take a ferry and drive to Port Angleles to spend the next few days exploring the Olympic National Park.  I have read that departure day can see lots of traffic of other people driving to the park.

Can we check out and depart the ship on our last excursion day in Victoria, BC, take the Blackball ferry and customs and get to Port Angeles a day early and miss a lot of headache and driving time?

I've been spending time online comparing brands. I DO want to buy a rolling garment bag, no need to write about there not being a need for one. I want one for many type trips, not just cruising. I also want one that is bigger than Carry-On.

Does any one have experience with this one? Or recommend another under $200?

I will require a restaurant with a/c. I would also like to try local Columbian dishes. I am spoiled with my dining and would really like something very good. I have looked at Carmen Cartagena and leaning towards Marea de Rausch.

Can any one give me reviews of these or another suggestion please?

I am hoping someone can point me in the directions of an excellent restaurant for lunch in Cartagena that has air conditioning. I am thinking of Marea de Rausch or Carmen.

Thank you Seathruu but I am worried because we have to get to MIA in Miami from the Port Everglades disembarkation.

We are going on a Celebrity 11 night cruise on Equinox in Nov/Dec! We booked our flights with Celebrity at the same time we booked the cruise. Our flights were considerably cheaper, non-stop and better flying times to fly in and out of Miami for a Ft Lauderdale cruise. We are arriving a day before our cruise so I hope we have covered any extenuating circumstances that leg of the trip. BUT we disembark in Ft. Lauderdale Dec 9, arriving 7 am. We have a flight in Miami at 2:19 pm.

1. Will we make it? I understand TSA is being difficult this summer but maybe not during slow time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I hope...

2. Should I use a private transfer as we are when we arrive, or should I use Celebrity thinking they will make an effort for us to make our flight?

3. Is there anything I should do for us to disembark faster?

My husband and I booked our 25th anniversary trip last night on Equinox in November. Out 3rd cruise in 15 years!! Very excited! I also booked our flights with Celebrity. The flights to Miami were non-stop, $300 cheaper than into Ft Lauderdale with more preferable times. but now I think I'm in trouble with transfers. We have booked flights to arrive in Miami the day before the cruise.

I read on a forum that someone found renting a car as the most economical to get from MIA to Fl Lauderdale. But I am wondering about dropping car off at Ft Lauderdale airport. Would we then have to take a shuttle to the airport (since most car rentals are away from the actual airport) and then find a shuttle to a hotel? We have not booked a hotel yet for the night before our cruise. I have also read here a taxi would be about $100 from MIA to Ft lauderdale. I would rather not spend that much but may have too.

2. Celebrity offered a transfer after disembarkation to MIA after the cruise but not for the day before we leave for $30 pp. but that seems cheep to me. Do they have a transfer to Ft. Lauderdale the day before the cruise available?

3. Can anyone suggest the best way I should organize our rental car drop off and transfer to a hotel with a shuttle from the Ft. Lauderdale airport?

4. I'm sure with some more research I can find recommendations for a hotel but since I'm writing this I'll ask any way. Any recommendation for a hotel with shuttle from airport and to dock that is under $150?
