A huge accident closed I-95 when we needed to get to FLL from our MIA cruise. We used one of the airport shuttles and the driver was well versed in getting around the accident. Shouldn't be a problem for you if you're doing a shuttle or an uber.

I don't cruise until June 3rd but I think the "70 years and older" threshold is very unfair. I am 72 and it a lot better health than people I know who are in their 50s. I also wonder if this isn't going to be challenged by the ADA and other groups. We are all adults and if we're willing to cruise why would they discriminate against us because of our age?

I was in Edinburgh last week and we had dinner one night on the Royal Mile in a nice pub called the "Canon's Gait". It is directly opposite the Canongate Kirk and we thought the food was excellent and well priced. My grandson inhaled the Bangers and Mash and I enjoyed my Fish and Chips.

We got two beach bags on the Miracle two weeks ago and I gave one to a member of our group from another site. She had designed shirts we could purchase and was very happy to have the gift since they are not yet platinum. Will do the same thing on our Christmas cruise unless the gift changes.

Congratulations! We sail on Saturday 9/8/18 on the Miracle to the Panama Canal for our 50th Anniversary. Hope you have a great trip!:bottle-pop::champagne-toast::champagne-toast:

I would just like to see it. Looks like it will be in Tampa 9/15 and we return to Tampa on 9/16 on the Miracle.:(

The only piece of checked luggage I have ever had go astray was a garment bag. It arrived at 11:00 p.m., I never did find out where it had been.
It's not talking, eh? Probably out partying with the other missing luggage!;p;p;p;p

I have the Carnival Mastercard and twice have had enough points for pre-paid gratuities for 2 people on an 8 day cruise. I also like it because there is no fee for foreign purchases. I go to Scotland every year or two and it saves me money then. Since I pay off my balance monthly the high interest rate doesn't bother me. Glad I got it.

Our best deal was a few years ago a 5 day Western Caribbean out of Charleston for $150pp. It was an inside room and they called on Wednesday for a cruise leaving on Saturday, but we figured at that price we couldn't eat at fast food restaurants for 5 days.

Some of the gifts have been pretty useful ones. Others like the stationary were filed in the circular file
When we sailed on the Sunshine last Christmas the Roll Call was having a gift exchange and I brought the stationary gift and someone grabbed it right away. I wasn't impressed but they sure were. Go figure!

Been on the Sunshine twice and believe me it's nothing to brag about. Last Christmas I bought the most expensive package and it was no better than the middle priced one. They always use the "well it's Christmas" excuse but that doesn't do it in February!
-
I used the most expensive package on the Sunshine over Christmas and it was terrible. I had the same experience the previous year with the mid-priced package so I upgraded.....waste of money. The first time they did refund my money and left the service on, but this last time I got the usual excuses...."it's Christmas and everyone is using it". We cruise again in September and no doubt I will go with the mid-rate package just for emergency contact. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed!

Sunshine came alongside at about 10:15 this morning. We were on the ship and wouldn't have noticed there was a problem until the Captain announced it. Wonder if they were able to fix it and what time she finally sailed.

126 which sounds like a lot but in-between I have a trip to Scotland for 3 weeks, so not so bad.:p

Enjoying your review of the Sunshine. As a native New Yorker I loved your sail-away pictures especially lower Manhattan as I worked on Wall Street, and the Verrazano Bridge since I remember when it was built.
We sailed on the Sunshine in February of 2016 and I must admit we weren't thrilled but decided to give it another try over Christmas of this year. Hopefully we will be prepared for the crowds and deal better with it. We did love Cucina del Capitano.

We were on the Ecstasy last Christmas. First time not with family, but that's another story. On Christmas Day they had a little show put on by the children in Camp Carnival. It was adorable as most shows with little ones are. On Christmas Eve they had caroling in the Atrium with Santa and it "snowed" in the Atrium. Very festive....different but festive. Lots of Christmas outfits, shirts, ties, socks, etc. They ship had incredible decorations too. Doing it again this year, but on the Sunshine.

The lady I saw with a "service dog" which was a cute little fluffy thing and she was hand feeding it at the buffet....with her fingers. I won't get into the "was it or wasn't it" a service dog but the idea of the dog licking the food off her fingers and then her putting them back into the food......ewww.
-
We did a Christmas cruise last year on the Ecstasy and that was before her dry dock. She now has Guys Burgers which is a fun place for lunch. We also found the staff to be outstanding. We have done both Fantasy Class and the newer larger ships and like both. Have a great time.

540...Yikes....unless I book something before the Panama Canal Journeys Cruise.;p

Probably was the wooden box of stationary. I bet they had to give those away to the crew even.
They were real duds!

Mint for mojitos. I don't remember which cruise line it was, but no Mojitos for us.
That happened to me too! My favorite drink....:loudcry:

We sailed on the Sunshine in February of 2016 and had a similar experience. It appears they added venues and took away deck space that was needed. We could not find ANY place to sit on a sea day. One day we wound up sitting in the lobby! Won't cruise the Sunshine again although we did love Cucina del Capitano. Our YTD was so messed up that we were treated to a free night there and we took advantage of it, and went back a second time too. The crew was fine as usual but the amount of people seemed overwhelming.....and yes we have sailed other Carnival ships that are larger with more people.

The only one I remember and enjoyed was John Heald on the Triumph on our first cruise. Since then they are all a blur.:o
Carnival Website Issue

Yup same issue here. It keeps telling me there is "no availability for the number of passengers you entered" which was "2". Annoying!
