  1. Has anyone heard anything about the Past Guest & Diamond Parties.....will Carnival still be holding these and if so, how?  Social distancing, etc....

Just curious as I think these are a neat benefit of being a loyal cruiser.  Thanks for the feedback...happy cruising everyone!

  2. Hello all,

I am wondering why the table mins were so high on the Oasis of the Seas?  $15 mins on tabe games like 3 card, LIR, etc.  $10 on craps.   These mins did not change from day to night.  Seems outrageously high.  I have friends that just returned from a cruise and told me about it.  Is this normal for Royal or just becuase its a huge ship that just went through a refurb?  I usually cruise with CCL and it's always $5.  Thank you in advance for you responses.

I don't believe you have any idea on what is happening. As for myself, I deal directly thru RCL, which NEVER notified me of any changes. I found out by logging into my "planner". And was also told that this may happen to me again. Unless you are the one this is happening to you  REALLY don't have any idea of what is going on!

What the hell ar you talking about?  This is happning to me.  That's why I'm pissed.  I paid for the room I wanted, and now I'm being kicked out and do not know where I will land.  There better be a refund or something....

Not BS. If you use a travel agent, you have to go thru them for changes to your reservation.  And presumably they TA should have notified you of the change, but that assumes that Royal told them about it.

Why don't you just call your TA and ask them to change your cabin?

And would it have been better if they'd just changed your cabin and not moved you to a GTY? Also, someone suggested that some cabin capacities had changed. Is that your situation? If it is, then I'm not sure what you would have expected them to do.

I wasn't notified by anyone.  I found out by logging in to my Royal account and noticing that it had been changed from my original to a GTY room.  I will have to wait until Monday to contact my TA.  Hopefully I don't get screwed on a decent room.

Same happen to me for this December cruise. I called, and was told I could pick another cabin, which I did. But I was also informed it could happen again with my new cabin assignment. I was also inform my original cabin was assigned to another party.

Sounds like a bunch of BS to me.  I'v trid to call Royal 3 times and was told I have to go through my travel agent to resolve th problem.....but royal had no problem booting us out of our cabin....

  7. I just checked my Royal account for my upcoming cruise on the Oasis in Feb 2020.  I had booked a balcony and saw that my stateroom had now been changed to GTY??  I called Royal and the lady told me that due to the Oasis going for a refurb in Nov, that our cabin got bumped, so they had to move us to a GTY.  I was told that "they" were looking at re assigning me to another cabin.  *****???   I had specifically booked this balcony due to it's location, etc.   Now I don't know where I will be.   Does anyone have any thoughts on this or have had the same experience?

    Thanks....JD

  8. Debarkation Day...

    9:45 AM!

    Knock, knock!

Nelson: "Mr. Curt! Wake up! Last call!"

Me: "Waking up now Nelson, thanks!" (all this through the closed door)

I jump up, put on the debarking clothes, double check the cabin to see if I forgot anything…

Carry on, rolling suit case and re-fixed back pack in hand.

    Elevators for second time…

    No line.

Bing bing, final sail and sign card for security so they know I’m debarking…

Tiny line for customs (customs form as well as major comment card for naming all of the crew who did such a great job filled out)…

10 minutes, and I’m in my car, driving back home.

Munched on a slice of De Chevre and a slice of Marguerita pizza for breakfast on the way home…

AND, I have several slices of pizza in freezer bags in my freezer for whenever I get PCD!

(Ahhh, the benefits of sailing from your hometown cruise port)…

    Okay, that’s it for now…

I will add more and do specific food reports on the Foodie Board (to attach to and from here), and fashion report on the Fashion Board (to attach to and from here) later with more specifics for those of you who are interested.

I will also update later (gotta find the info I wrote down) Capers scans, and info on CD, Maitre’Ds, etc.

    Hope you vicariously enjoyed!:D

    Hey Curt,

Can you answer a few questions? First, does the Paradise still have the Mongolian Wok for lunch? Also, what was the charge for the sushi? Reference the deli, do they still hand make all the sandwiches or are they on the "NEW" Carnival deli menu were everything is already prepared?

    Thanks.....JD

  9. Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had recently sailed on the Rhapsody and could tell me about the casino table minimums, specifically craps and 3 card poker? I usually cruise Carnival and the minimums are $5.00. Thank for your replies....
