  1. I was wondering the same thing. Our Alaska cruise is not until June. In the past, I could not cancel the flight excursion after 30 day prior to our cruise last time, but I did not have to pay until onboard. Is this a new policy? What do I do with onboard credit?

  2. I eat a plant based diet, no meat, no dairy, no eggs. Low salt. I am not religious about it, but try to stick to that for health reasons. At home, it is not a problem. Besides talking to the Maitre D for dinner choices, does anyone have any tips for eating around the ship from those of you who may be vegan or Veganish?

  3. I am curious to know if you pre-order and pre-pay for a wine package (as if it was a gift) will you still pay the 15% onboard? It seems to me that in the past when we pre-ordered the beer package we did not have to pay the 15%. When we boarded the ship, there was a card in our room informing us to contact room service when we would like the beer to be delivered. Our credit card had already been zapped when we ordered it about 2 weeks before the cruise.

    Any thoughts?

We will be coming in on a cruise ship in September for the day. We would like to go to the Ice Bar. We can book an excursion on the ship to see it, but was wondering if it is possible to walk or take a taxi there. Is it easy to get a taxi near the pier and will we need reservations at the Ice Bar? We do not want to spend time standing in line to get in as we only have one day in Stockhom. Not sure if we can easily do this independently. Thanks for any info you can share.:)

  6. Just got off the Sapphire Princess -- The cruise was wonderful and our balcony cabin was totally enjoyed. One small problem -- the wall behind the bed constantly vibrated. I like to relax on the bed and lean against the pillows to read -- unfortunately I was unable to do that in this cabin. This was my 4th cruise and I had never experienced that before. Even sleeping was difficult the first night -- our cabin steward pulled our bed out from the wall about an inch and that did the trick for sleeping. I mentioned it to Passenger Services but was given a strange explanation about the direction of the ship and the waves, blah, blah, blah. So I just sat in a chair to read and with the bed pulled away from the wall, I was able to sleep at night. It was an inconvenience, but we loved the cruise, so was a minor issue. Thought someone might want to know. I did ask the passenger next door if they were experiencing the same thing, but she said there was not a problem.
