I’ve not done the bid thing  But I do know from others that when you are upgraded you get the full benefits of the YC. Yes, go to the white YC tent to check in. You will be dining in the YC and will have the drinks package that comes with the YC booking.  Congratulations on your bid.  Enjoy the YC. It’s an awesome experience.

Thanks for the info @cruisegal1208 !

I had the exact same experience. We had a Bella Balcony and upgraded to the Yacht Club. We went right to the Yacht club tent and out butler and he had Yacht club luggage tags. He then escorted us pass security and all.tyebothers waiting, straight to the Yacht club lounge, and got us a drink. This is where we checked in and received our wrist bands and Yacht club cards. The only thing we did not get was drinks outside if the Yacht club. Inside the Yacht club it was anything we asked for. Outside the Yacht club we had to pay for our drinks, so we just got our drinks inside the Yacht club and walked out. The quote "experience" on our cruise card was Bella, seeing that is what we originally booked.

Thank you for the super fast response!

Since you said that the only thing you didn't get was drinks outside of Yacht Club, I am assuming you were able to eat at the Yacht Club restaurant?

Did they let you use the other Yacht club amenities, like the thermal spa?

    Thanks!

  3. Hey Everyone,

The topic has been quiet for a while, I was wondering if anyone else has gone on their cruise already with the bid upgrade.

I got my offer on January 3rd and received the email on January 9th saying that I had won my bid.

I was in a Fantastica Balcony and now I am in a Yacht Club Deluxe Suite.

I am 18 days away from my sailing and I wanted to get some clarity as to what to expect.

Should I go directly to the Yacht club area at check in, or check in as if I my cabin isn't in Yacht club?

Will we be dining at the Yacht club restaurant, or main dinning room?

I've read through all of these pages and I see different opinions, but has anyone new actually been on board with an upgrade?

    Thanks in advance,

  4. Jim, Thanks for the very in depth review, however I just got off the Seaside on Saturday and don't agree with a lot of what you had to say. Everyone has their own opinions and I respect that. I just wanted to write this so people considering the Seaside give it a try without being turned off by a very well written review.

I read a bunch of reviews in the weeks coming up to my cruise bashing the decor of the ship and MSC's "American Style" but once on board I was happy to see that I did not agree with them.

My trip did not go as smooth as I would have liked and I had a few "MSC moments" throughout the week but we really enjoyed the ship.

Again, Thanks for taking the time with such a great reviews and great pictures.

**MSC moments are those times when things don't make sense, like when Jim had to stand in line for 45 minutes to get a credit removed off his account to get off the ship**

  5. Hi, are there kids menus in the specialty dining restaurants? Does anyone have pictures so I can see what's offered? Thanks!

We just got off the Seaside on Saturday. My kids are 7 & 8 years old. There is definitely kids menus at both the Main Dining and specialty restaurants. My kids ate from the adult menus at both. I only glanced at the kids menu in the main dining room the first night and I remember there was a pizza, chicken dish, and a pasta. I had pre purchased the specialty dining package for the 4 of us so there was no reason to look at the kids menus there since we had already paid the adult price. My kids loved the filet mignon at both Butchers Cut and the Asian Market.

  6. Hi, Just got off the Seaside on Saturday so I'll answer these to the best of my knowledge. I saw you had a bunch or responses but didn't really study them.

1- Bracelets/Bands; My kids got them for free when you sign them up for kids camp, you just need to return the chip the last night. We adults did not get them. We did pay the extra fee to be able to track the kids and it works pretty well.

2- Ice Cream; We also had fantastica, the voucher reads non alcoholic drink so I didn't even try for ice cream. It might have worked as everyone on the ship interprets everything differently.

3-The MSC app; You do not need wifi package to use it. However you do if you want to chat/email etc.. They included the surfer package with my fare for 2 devices and it works well. We did blow through it and had to buy some more data before the week was up. I suggest buying more before the initial runs out because the pricing seemed to be cheaper.

4- Photo package; We pre purchased it for $99, you will get all the pictures you take on the ship in digital format. They still try and sell you pictures on board, but with printing prices so cheap we opted not to. The lady at the counter told us the quality of the digital pics was the same quality they use to print the pictures themselves.

5- bowling; Bowling is reserved at the arcade on deck 7 where the bowling alley is. It can only be made on the day of the bowling, can't be done in advanced. We never made it a priority and would always find the sign up sheet full when we arrived. Both the bowling and the 5d theater are closed from 6-11 for dinner service because there is a dining room on the deck below. I now have to take my kids bowling this weekend... lol.

6- Zipline; For zipline you can buy the passes at the same desk as the bowling & 5d theater. Its $5 per ride or $20 for a pass that covers everyone in your cabin for the duration of the cruise. I bought the $20 package and none of us ever rode the zipline. Similar to the bowling we never prioritized the zip line and the few times that we wanted to do it the zip line was closed. It does not open when the ship is moving or on windy days.

They sell a fun pass at the arcade (which only has 3 games) that gives you extra free $ depending on which one you buy that you can use to pay for the bowling/5d/zip line and the 3 arcade machines.

    Hope this helps

  7. Hi,

This would be our first time taking cruises with MSC.

We logged in online yesterday and saw that under photography, the package costs $98 per person?

Is it really per person or per stateroom? I called MSC and the agent said, it's per stateroom. It's quite confusing.

Have anyone bought this package before?

    Thank you.

    Danny

Danny, did you buy the photo package? Did it include all the pictures you took through an MSC photographer?

Did someone from your stateroom need to be in every pic or can you get pics with your family in them?

    Thanks!

  8. We prepaid for the 10 studio pictures plus CD. The embarkation photo was not included. We were able to choose 10 8by10 prints. At least one person in the photo must be from your cabin. Unlimited photo seatings on the first 6 evenings. On the CD were just those photos we picked to be printed.

You can select photos and have the staff keep a folder for you while you decide.

Our pictures were nice quality. I put 2 in frames at home. I was satisfied with the value.

I'm curious , did you buy the photo package for your cruise?? What did it include?

I am intrigued by the $90 photo package for 100 pics. Does it include any type of picture taken on the ship??

  9. I'm wondering if there will be kids on European cruises in June? I'm bringing my 4 and 6 years old and from our roll call sounds like it's just going to be big kids (teenagers).

My first time on Carnival and on European cruise! Thanks!

Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

I will be on the June 21 cruise with my 5&6 year olds.
