  1. If all of your party are fully vaccinated, you are allowed to get off independently in Liverpool.

Apparently, this fluctuates with Belfast and advice seems to change periodically for some reason.

If you have unvaccinated children in your party, you either have to leave them on board or take an organised excursion.

This is the latest info but could change by next month.

We are due to sail on her this weekend 😀

    Hi All

looking to book one of the new Anthem itineraries for the end of September. Are they now allowing guest to do 'their own thing' in the UK ports?

We just wanted to get off the ship in Belfast and Liverpool and do our own thing and not a cruise line organised (and over priced) tour! i tried to find the answer on their website with no luck.

    thanks

  3. Got back last week and had an amazing time on this ship. We only got off for a couple of hours at La Spezia to look around the town, and for the morning to over to Capri on the ferry. We've been many times to the other places on the cruise so our plan was to enjoy the ship (and our free Drinks package!).

Our room was very comfortable and well appointed but I would not ever book a Central Park balcony room again. We were on deck 14 and had to keep our balcony door fully closed every night due to people laughing and drinking to 3 or 4am on the pool deck above us. We like the door open usually to let fresh air in but not on this cruise.

Also, there is no net curtain, just the full drape. People from the cabins across on the other side can see right in and you can see right in their cabin. Our bed was next to the bathroom with the sofa by the balcony door so a little further away from the window, but the cabins opposite had beds right next to the balcony door and I saw some unwelcome sights! So in the evening we always had to have the curtains closed and be very careful going in and out of the bathroom in various states of dress.

The room included a free lunch in either Johnny Rockets or Jamie's Italian. We didn't get to use it as it's valid only on sea days of which we only had one (our last day) and we were sunbathing and swimming on deck. Jamie's shuts at 1.30pm and we didn't want to lose our sunbeds by leaving them to go and ready to go to lunch. Johnny Rocket's is open much later (until 5.30pm) but I would never have eaten dinner if I had a late burger and fries lunch.

I'm glad we tried a Central Park balcony cabin but I now know that it's not for me and will stick with a regular balcony in future.

We were also in a Central Park balcony cabin 27/5-03/06.

We used our 'free lunch' on the first night- we went to Jamie's shortly after boarding and was told it didn't have to be lunch on a sea day- we could book any night we wanted instead!

  4. Good to know! Did you sail out of Barcelona? How was Hooked?
Yes, we had a couple of days in Barcelona pre cruise.

Arrived at ship early and was on by about 11am. Cabins were ready at 1pm.

I thought Hooked was great cos as I was able to get oysters and mussels as appetisers and then lobster as entree.

DH and DS not quite as enamoured- they much prefer their steaks!

We hadn't planned on speciality dining but after two visits to MDR- dinner on day 2 and breakfast on day 3, we had no hesitation buying it!

  5. I'm sailing on Symphony from Barcelona in October.

Right now, only the Ultimate Dining package is available, and it's just too much food for us.

Has anyone seen the 3,4, or 5 night packages available on their cruises?

    Can you sign up online?

    Thanks!

    Oasis

    Rhapsody

    Brilliance

    Adventure

We bought the five night package on day 3 whilst on board Symphony a couple of weeks ago. Cost of approx $150 per person.

If I remember correctly, the three night package was about $120.

Ate at Hooked, Chops X3 and Jamie's. Didn't try Wonderland or 150 CP as we had very picky DS14 with us!

Jamie's was great but Chops was absolutely amazing!

  6. What reasonable airline departures times can I get from leaving at 8 am dock time? or what time can I expect to get off ship and to airport? How far is airport from dock? Any reasonable hotels around dock vicinity? Suggestions please....
We just got off Symphony in Barcelona on Sunday.

We docked at 5am. Self assist departure was between 6am and 8am. We left the ship just after 7am- straight off, no queues, jumped in a taxi right outside and was back at Barcelona airport before 8am.

(All taxis charge a fixed fee of 39 euros from cruise port to BCN airport)

  7. Just got off the Symphony this morning.

Reluctantly went to JRs for lunch yesterday at DS14 insistence.

Cover charge was $9.95 each plus tax and gratuity, milkshakes $5 each (note these are NOT refillable so beware of you want more than one).

Our server messed up our check twice (forgetting to discount coupons).

We finally ended up with a check for $58.

When we got back to our cabin, we decided to do a check on our spending, lucky we did as we realised all three checks that she had rung up had been added to our bill- a total of $190!!!

Spent the next hour at guest services sorting it- where we were asked if we were sure that we hadn't eaten with a group of friends!

Worst experience on the ship- for food, experience and customer service. Never again!

  8. Hello, would you happen to know the cost per person per day to buy the drinks package on board? I’m going on a 4 night cruise from Barcelona to Rome, RC have told me I can’t pre purchase the package before I go I have to buy it onboard.....thanks
    Hi

I have just asked one of the bar staff this question as I haven't seen any adverts for drinks package purchase in the last couple of days.

He tells me it is approx $70 per day to purchase on board.

  9. Hi Mark,

Here is the list from Vintages- including tapas menu.

Just enjoying a nice glass of Californian cabernet (number 544 which has been given as part of deluxe package!)

I might not be able to get MDR- we have specialty dining for remaining nights, will post Jamie's, Chops grille and Hooked over next few days if you interested

  10. If you make it to vintages - would love pictures of the wine list - both by the glass and by the bottle.

Also - Main Dining Room wine list / glass and bottle.

Thanks so much for what you've done already!
