  1. We were B2B in Jr Suite 1580 on Jewel recently. Noise from the carts in Windjammer was UNREAL. Never again will we book a room under Windjammer. It was early, late, no respite from it.

It wasn't our cabin of choice, not many Jr Suites left when they cancelled Adventure and we had to switch to Jewel.

Agreed. We are just off Jewel. Stayed in AFT junior suite directly under the outdoor seating of windjammer. Starting around 7am every single morning we would hear chairs being pushed, pulled. We are early risers, so it wasn’t much of an issue, but for anyone who likes to sleep in, they wouldn’t be happy. Non stop scrapping sounds. Other issue was around 11:30pm-12am every night we would hear the same noise. My assumption was the crew cleaning the deck and moving the chairs/tables. Never again would I book a floor directly below the windjammer. Besides that, the ship is great, and cruise was excellent. Enjoy.

  2. Question for anyone who has sailed on the jewel before who did the "anytime dining", which I love! I got an email from RCL saying I can make reservations now for my anytime dining....my question: do we HAVE to make reservations now? Or can we make daily or just show up?

Currently on Jewel with MTD and did not book reservations prior. We’ve eaten in the main dining room 3 times so far with no issues walking up. We would go around 7-7:30pm. Only a 5 min wait, if that. Enjoy your cruise

  3. It's actually true that some of the waste is incinerated. So not as far from the truth as you might think.

For more question about what the crew eats, find the thread started by a crew member on Indy....

I was wondering where that thread went. Seems like it disappeared. Can’t find it now.

  4. I forget which RC ship, but while dining at Johnny Rockets in the outside section, crew above us were hosing down the deck above where we were siting. All of the sudden lots water started to spill over onto the tables where people were sitting. There were 4 officers seated behind us. The officers seated on the inside of the booth got soaked as did their food! They weren’t happy! The staff at JR comped our meal and were very apologetic. Not sure what happened though to the crew who were doing the cleaning above!

  5. Guernsey was our last port stop on our “British Isles” RC cruise last July ‘17. We booked a walking tour through the ship of St. Peter’s Port with the last stop being Castle Cornet. Allow yourself a few hours if you decide to go to the castle. Great weather (about 75/sunny) and very nice island. Enjoy.

  6. My husband and I are planning a cruise on Freedom of the Seas in May out of San Juan. Has anyone been there since the hurricane? We have heard that the ship is not the best and the islands are still bad. Does anyone have any update in these islands.

Sailed on Freedom last November and the ship is our favorite. Ship was in great condition and the staff was excellent.

  7. On the recent Vision repositioning to Galveston there were two incidents of not getting back on time. Bermuda was the first port and Captain Marek announced we could watch for 2 pier runners, phone contact had been made with them, and the ship was waiting.

At the last port in Progresso, the captain announced the ship was departing, leaving behind 2 cruisers. The next day the captain announced they had made it back to the ship just as lines were being released.

On the last day during the captain/officer interview, it was stated that the late arriving couple in Bermuda , day 3 of 15 days, never spoke with or thanked the captain for delaying the ship for them.

Was on Vision over the summer and Captain Marek would call out the passengers who were late getting back on board by first name during his announcement!
