  1. You use your cruise card to purchase tokens on the Crown and they have a machine to purchase soap, etc. I usually pack a little laundry bag, has dryer sheets, small spray starch, downy wrinkle remover and the individual liquid tide (in travel sz area at Target etc). I use a very small cosmetic bag to hold all this, and I also put a few clothes pins in. Hope this helps!

  2. I personally don't like those cabins... We got an "upgrade" and I hated it! Lights were on all night and you could only look out not down. We asked for a cabin change after the first night which we didn't get. I complained the entire 10 days... And I love Princess!

  3. Looks like you

Are booked for inside cabin... You just make sure you are not below the sky bridge (balcony) on side of ship. People walking on glass can see into those cabins clearly!!! We like being in the higher decks but aft (personal choice).

  4. We are sailing on the Crown in about 3 weeks and want to be able to play dvds in our mini-suite. What do we bring to hook up to the TV... HDMI or another type cable. Figure we will use our laptop but just trying to have info to inform DH. Thank you, I am technically challenged!

  5. We will be taking our first Alaskan cruise the end of June. Are the pools covered due to cooler weather? Just trying to determine if we need to bring swim suits.

Last time in Alaska I don't remember if we got in the pool... however we loved coming back to the ship slipping on our suits and running for the hot tubs. One of my favorite memories was sitting with a drink in hand in the aft hot tub in port at sail away... snow covered mountains around us, Bald Eagles soaring in the sky and watching the Sea Planes land next to us. It became an afternoon tradition.

  6. Hi all,

Considering paying for access to the Sanctuary on the Caribbean Princess. Has anyone done this? Is it quiet? Is it crowded? Any tips/advice?

Considering it as we are looking for peace, quiet, and an escape from large crowds.

    Thanks in advance!

I think it depends on the time of year... we were on the Caribbean Princess (Western Caribbean) in January and it was completely empty for two weeks. It was cold and very windy, we went our first day because we usually love it. We used two blankets and were still cold. Check the temperature and weather... it was a waste of money that day.

  7. I thought I read that Crab Shack was at lunchtime???? Maybe it depends on the ship?

We were on the Caribbean Princess B2B in January and it was on Thursday Evening in the Cafe Caribe. They had it setup in a separate (roped off) area. It was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Hoping when we sail on the Crown at the end of the month doing a B2B we will have a chance too enjoy again. We love all the Specialty Dining Offerings... The English Pub Lunch was also wonderful. Two weeks on the same dining room food can get old, so this gives us options.

  8. Wearing their cruise card on a lanyard around their neck.

As an "Old Salty Lady", we don't have pockets usually... I always use a lanyard and all of mine are "bedazzled". It is really more convenient and I am less likely to misplace it.

    Newbie no/no~

I would say using a selfie stick hanging over every rail and posing yourself over and over until you get that perfect shot... in line, in the buffet, in the piazza, on the tender, at the coffee bar... you get my drift!
