  1. I am booked on the Fantasy in a few weeks. We have an interior cabin that will have me and my 2 daughters age 16 and 13. Does anyone know any experience with how it accommodates 3 people? I understand there are 2 single beds and they will bring in a trundle bed for the 3rd person. I am just wondering how comfortable we will all be? Although, I really am not worried because we will only be in the room to sleep and shower.

  2. I would recommend a Balcony only on a longer cruise of at least 6 days, and with stops in at least 3 or 4 ports. I like being on the balcony for arrival at the port or departing the port. I have also been in an Ocean View, but rarely looked out the window. This year we will have 2 interior rooms to save money, but with 5 young children with us, 10 - 17 years old, who could care less about a balcony, we would rather spend the money on excursions and things on board.

  3. We were fortunate to celebrate Hannukah on a cruise in 2013 and 2014. We will be on the Fantasy for the last day of Hannukah this year. For 2013, there was a nice menorah on the main level of the ship where they had a candle lighting every night. They also had challa and fruit for us. I think the cruiser director was Jewish, and there were maybe 15-20 people each night for the lighting. In 2014, the menorah was by the information desk with nothing big. We will be on the Fantasy for the last night this year and not sure what we will see.

  4. Go for the early dining for several reasons. If you do not show up, no problem as you can still eat on deck and usually the food is the same or sometimes better. And if you are still hungry, you can still go on deck and eat. I have done both, and for our cruise in December, we are doing the early dining for this particular reason.

  5. I thought my cruise was sold out, so I thought I wouldn't get a call!

I am going from deck 1 porthole to deck 11 spa balcony. $432 flat adder. This averages to $30.86 extra per day for the wife and me. That is almost cheaper than the daily spa access. I am soooo excited!

Deck 1 porthole to deck 11 balcony...that is an upgrade no matter how you look at it

  6. I saw this posting and I called Carnival to see about the price drop talked to the customer service rep and got my cruise price dropped $20 per person, plus reduction in taxes for a total savings of about $78. I also got a $50 on board credit. The Carnival rep told me to check back again in a few months, and if the price is even lower, I will get that lower rate. Life is good.

  7. Thanks for the advice / suggestions everyone. I just called Carnival and my cruise price was dropped $20 per person, plus reduction in taxes for a total savings of about $78, and also got a $50 on board credit. The Carnival rep told me to check back again in a few months, and if the price is even lower, I will get that lower rate. Life is good.

  8. I just saw that a cruise I booked for Dec 31 is now $78.00 cheaper than when I booked it a few months ago. I booked it directly through Carnival's website after the sent me an email claiming this was the lowest price and was good for only 2 days. So I booked it, and kept looking at their website and the price never changed. I guess their " 2 day special" kept on going. Even looking at other cruise brokers, showed the same price for this cruise. This is the first time I booked directly thru Carnival.

I now see they are offering the same cruise and the rooms available are next to the one I picked, but it is now $78 cheaper. I will be calling Carnival to see if I can get the lower price, but before I do, I want to know if I have a chance or is it just my bad luck that I booked so far in advance. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thank you

  9. Great review. We will be on the Valor July 8-16, celebrating my birthday on the 11th. I was on the Valor in 2004 for its 2nd sailing and looking forward to being on it again. Will have to look to see if my name is still carved in one of the walls ( just kidding ). Cannot wait and hoping the entertainment is good. We were on a different Carnival ship 2 years ago, I cannot remember the name and the entertainment was very good. The adult comedian was the funniest I have ever heard and hope they have someone like him again on the ship. Anyway, looking forward to a great time.

  10. Next up... Chef's Table!!

I surprised hubby with this specialty dining experience as we were celebrating our 35th Wedding Anniversary - he's pretty much a gourmet cook and I thought he'd like the unique menu and the "behind the scenes" portion of the evening. It was a little pricey ($75 pp) but probably less than a "Swimming with the Dolphins" kind of excursion which is definitely not his type of thing anyway!!

So, we started with bottomless glasses of champagne...

{and Photobucket has apparently crashed... to be continued tomorrow evening :) )

    Margie,

How was the Chefs Table? We will be on the Valor for my birthday, July 11, and planning on the Chefs Table. Is it worth it? What kind of food did you have? I am a very picky eater ( steak and potato's guy ), and although I do not like cream sauces I am willing to give different foods a try for this night. Thanks, Larry
