Room steward (aka Retreat Host) kept us supplied with bottled water in our room without us asking

There were different steak options every night in Luminae (short cruise) and they were really good

The free sparkling wine (champagne?) was actually decent in the Retreat and Luminae (in our experience it was usually mediocre on past cruises)

The production show "Life" was a huge improvement over past production shows

Luminae had more chocolate desserts than I remember in the past

Thank you for these comments! We will sail with "Silhouette" on an TA from Fort Lauderdale on April 22nd, and really look forward to have the same great experience as we always had with Celebrity: We did 10 cruises on different ships (Insignia, Constellation; Summit, Equinox and Reflection),  8 x Sky- / 1 x Celebrity- and 1 x Signature Suite, always had the same great level of service. Love the Luminae and Reatreat areas. Although we are Germans Celebrity is still our favourite cruise line.

Heard so many negative comments about downsizing of quality & service along with ridiculous price increase. Well, prices are really now on a level for "Retreat" that Luxury cruise lines like "Silversea" , "Oceania" or the new "Explora" are interesting too (did also Oceania once and loved it due to the food, which is really excellent).

Agree to you concerning the Champagne, never liked it, look forward now to the "Haslinger & Fils" (prices for bottles are an expensive joke, at least for a German 😉).

Let's be positive and see what we will experience - save travels to all of you👍...

We are doing msc seaside yacht club in 5 weeks , be interesting to see how there butlers and perks compare to celebrity. Price is very reasonable.

Thanks for giving your opinion about MSC "Yacht Club"! My DW and I were also considering MSC in the past, but after 4 Cruises in Sky and 1 in Celebrity-Suite we got stuck with Celebrity...loving the Service & Food.

If anyone else has experience with the "Yacht-Club" please share your experinence..

  3. Travelling on Summit in November, I would be interested to know if the makeover of the ship will also bring changes of menues in restaurants & bars?

We have been on 5 cruises with Celebrity so far (1 x Infinity, 1 x Equinox, 3 x Constellation), always in Suite Class, therefore mostly dining in "Luminae".

It would be great if some of you travelling on Summit (and/or Millenium) before November 2019 could post some pictures of the menue and wine lists of Luminae and the Specialty Restaurants.

Of Course also photos of The Retreat & -Sundeck, Suites, Luminae etc. will be most appreciated!

Also heard about the change from "Cellar Masters" into "Gastropub" with different kinds of draft beer - true?

Thanks in advance for any update!

    Save travels to everyone!

  4. Thank you for this info, I am sure we will like the "O" experience...and as we sail along the New England states and Canada we should have opportunities to get also good sea-food while at land.

Agree with the separate booking of tours and flights, as tours are mostly overprized and at least here in Germany you are obliged to take the economy-flight which is included and cannot upgrade to business...

    Save travels!

  5. My DW and I have been on 3 cruises so far, all Celebrity (Infinity, Constellation, Equinox). After our first trip in a suite with access to the Luminae Restaurant we decided to only book suites simply because of the food. We checked out the MDR 1 time, but if you are a real "foodie" you may be a little disappointed. The Blu Restaurant for Aqua Class guests is also a good choice, but if you have been to Luminae you certainly want to stay there.

Food in the Luminae is not the same like a 1* Michelin Restaurant, but has "BiB Gourmand" level (or about 13-14 points Gault Millau).

The service in the Luminae however is absolutely great!

Speciality Restaurants: Sushi on 5 is great if you love asian, the Tuscan Grill was a little disapointing.

Late October we will sail on the Insigia to check out what Oceania has to offer ;).

P.S.: If you are not in a suite you can only get access to Luminae when invited by a suite guest, plus paying a fee of $ 30 p.P.

I would be interested to get your feedback of Celebrity Food compared to Oceania after your trip.

    Enjoy!

  6. Good choice! My wife and I had our very first cruise 2 years ago from Vancouver up north with the Infinity. We were so happy with the quality of food and the excellent service that we also did our next 2 cruises (Mediterranian with Constellation and Carribean with Equinox) last year in suite class.

Now we look forward to another trip from Italy to Spain on the Constellation.

If you like japanese Food like Sushi you should also visit the "Sushi on 5", also excellent!

    Bon Appetit! :)

    Goetz
