It was really easy. Just make sure you walk out of the port and pass the buses full of people on tours. There were a bunch of taxis lined up and waiting on the right and left. The building from mitsugirly's post I think has now been painted blue. We saw it on the way back.

If you search this forum you will get a lot of different answers. We just finished an 8 day cruise with my 4 and 2 year old kiddos (26 months). I brought an Ergo baby carrier but never used it. We rode in a few taxis in Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman. I kept my daughter on my lap chest to chest. I was thankful we chose not to lug around a car seat.

When are you going? We will be there 12/21. I printed out the map from Almaplena and also the taxi marker from Mitsugirl's review. I'm glad the taxi is prepaid!

My friend is having her wedding at one of the all inclusives in Cozumel. Some of the family is coming on the cruise, but others are just flying into Cozumel. Maybe you could find a nice place at one of the ports and have it there?

That is strange that it is $15 on some sailings and $30 on others:rolleyes:
Supply and demand. I'm sad there are no promos for our Xmas cruise, but I figured it's because it's selling well without promos.

No it wasn't through the cruise. I didn't see any offerings to Blue Hole and I tend to avoid ship excursions. I did a bunch of research and I booked with Winston Gayle through Tour Jamaica Today. He drove us there, took us to lunch and then we returned to the ship in plenty of time...we like to have a good cushion to make it back. I wanted a private tour so we could be on our schedule (especially with kids).
How long was the drive to Blue Hole? Did you port in Falmouth?

To those that have brought children on this trip, were they able to swim or snorkel? Did they get bored? We'll be cruising in December with our 2 and 4 year old.
Almaplena: how hard is it to find the correct taxi?

The people and food were wonderful. It was windy and the water was pretty choppy which didn't make for good snorkeling conditions. If you go on a calm day the reef is very close. The water temp was perfect. Also, the taxi ride took a good 30 minutes there. A bit longer on the way back bc of traffic getting into the port. Enjoy!
