Did a 7 day Alaska on the Pearl last year. Dining and staff were excellent. There are definitely less entertainment options than the mega ships but I was never bored.

I feel like it had more deck space around the pool area than the breakaway, but maybe that's because we were in Alaska lol.

It did have the best on deck theme lunches of any cruise I've been on (salmon bake, german, and more I can't remember)

I missed the 90 day mark (now at 72 for my cruise) I never got any email notification regarding the opening of the booking for shows (not sure if they even have one, first time cruising with NCL) It has Add to cart, but when i do that it says it failed. Anyone know if spaces open up as the date gets closer? or when on board do they have slots open to reserve seats?

Just did mine last night at the 80 or so day mark and I ran into the same issue. I was able to book after midnight easily, but it wouldn't let me checkout with brat pack(kept emptying the cart). I waited and later received the confirmation email that stated i was booked for 2 showings of brat pack and the after midnight showing.

So the cart was definitely working, even though it said it didn't. I had to call and cancel my second booking of brat pack because i couldn't do it online.

Looking for recommendations for a very nice, but economical hotel that is convenient to the cruise port. Flying in on July 8, cruising on the pearl the ninth. Which pier will we be leaving from. We are staying overnight on 7/16 as well. Thx for any and all advice. :)

We stayed at the Hyatt Place downtown, near the needle, before our Pearl cruise. Was clean, reasonable, and they setup a shuttle for us to the pier for a few bucks a person. Was only a few minute ride from the hotel to the pier.

If things haven't changed from last year you'll be at Port 66. Very easy dropoff/pickup at this port.
