We did when we sailed out of Sydney because we had been in Australia several days early. It worked very well. Easily found an available washer and dryer.

Thank you! I think that will be my plan.

I'm just curious why you would want to wash the clothes from your land portion, unless you plan to wear some during your cruise. Every time we did Alaska we packed two bags. One for the land portion and the other for the cruise. Oh, and at least one carry-on. 🙂

I don't want to pack 2 weeks worth of clothes. The jeans/pants, casual tops, and underwear we wear on the land portion we plan to wear in other ports and on the ship during the day. We will have a "ship" suitcase with dressier clothes and items we will only use on the ship.

  3. I use detergent sheets and dryer sheets when I travel. The detergent sheets are lighter, take up less room, and there is no chance anything will leak when travelling. They work great! Has anyone done laundry the first full day at sea? We are doing a land/sea tour of Alaska this coming Septemeber and our first full day on the ship would be a good day to wash the clothes we wore on the land portion of our trip. That day we sail to Hubbard Glacier but are only there from 3:00-8 pm so it would be a good day for me to do our clothes.

Come join our roll call for October 17th. I’m assuming your screen name, you live in IL or went to U of I?

    Julie

I was born and raised in Illinois - went to U of I (graduated in 1977) - and spent most of my adult life in the Chicago burbs and most of my youth in Springfield followed by 8 years in Champaign. We moved to Florida full time this past March after being snow birds for 4 years. Getting ready to retire next year and the cost of living is much lower down here.

It's amazing how many people do not know about this product.  LOL.

I am actually amazed at how many people do know about it. My husband bought some a few months ago as a joke - and now we use it "as needed". I had never heard of it until then.

  7. Two days to read this far! Love your pictures. We will be on the Crown for the 3/16 ABC cruise. It is our first Princess Cruise. We are traveling with a group of 26 couples from our winter community in Lakeland, Florida (our current summer home is in McHenry, IL although we spent most of our adult years in Arlington Heights). I am really enjoying your pictures of the ship, your commentary on the trip, and the information on the ports. Can't wait to follow along on the rest of the report.
