I am a first-time cruiser and I've been told by some people that it is illegal to shop in non-recommended shops and by others that it is usually better to shop in places that the cruiseline doesn't recommend!

    How confusing!

    Help please....

That is not true at all. Its up to you where you shop. Just be aware . The guides get comission for everything that RCI guests buy I have heard !! Shop where you want....

  2. Thanks for all this wonderful info. Our boys will be delighted about the pizza, I guess I'll know where to find them!

I know about the charges for the speciality restaurants, but what other food is free apart from in the main dining rooms.

Also, how much is the flowrider?

    Thanks again

The Pizza/Cookies/Sandwiches etc... are all free. Ben and Jerrys is charged as is Seattles coffee. Normal self service coffee and Tea are free. Johnny Rockets is around €6 for food and then you pay for drinks. I didnt know there was a charge for the flowrider , maybe somebody else knows??

The Pizza was to die for and Im sure you will be there also, it really was nice :D

  3. Hey Heather / Andrew great to hear from you and hope you are well. Seems like an eternity ago when we were on the Voyager !!!

The Independence was fantastic and the food and amenities as good as ever.

I also have two videos here one of the Flowrider and one of the fireworks although it was a shame as a sea mist came in and spoilt it a bit ::

Thanks for the Compass scans. We are on the ship Friday for the four day cruise to Cork and back.

Just burstin to get on that boat !

I see you are from the Emerald Isle - do you know of any good places to see and do in Cork?

Can I also ask - how did you get to be on the two day trip you are on?

Was it advertised or were you selected - or what?

    Have a great time

Hi there I got off yesterday afternoon. I was on as part of the Press/Media and Travel trade event. We boarded at 1145am on Sunday and got off yesterday. Was great.

As for Cork you can take the train from beside the ship to ''Cork'' then the city center is a 10 mins walk along the Quay. Im not from Cork but have been there a few times. Its a nice city and everything is compact. I would just take a stroll around and dont miss the English Market.
