  1. Thanks all for your feedback.

We are now missing the replacement port of Cartagena! Is it possible to claim for a replacement port being missed too? My insurance just says "£100 per missed port"

Again I've never claimed before on any insurance in my life!

    Thanks

  2. Hi all

Oriana is unable to dock this morning at Corfu due to strong winds.

My travel insurance says I need to have in writing the reason that we couldn't dock. Is this something I have to contact P&O for or will the reception on board give me something?

I've never claimed on my insurance before, but saw I am covered for missed ports

    Thanks all for your help

  3. Fully agree with you.we have always removed auto gratuities and rewarded the people who have directly helped us.furthermore in answer to another post, the staff are allowed to keep their gratuities that are given individually and this can only be correct.the tipping business only started because the salaries earned by the cruise staff were traditionally quite low, but, recently the earnings have increased somewhat so therefore they do not suffer so financially as they once did.we have friends who are employed by P&O who have confirmed this so as I said earlier,we always reward those who have helped us.

I heard the staff know when you remove a tip. Did you find this to be true? Did you receive any less of a service? Were reception funny with you, when you removed it that is?

  4. Hi all,

Trying to book the first cruise after Oriana's refit and I keep being greeted with "

    Peninsular Club Number

The Peninsular Club Number, First Name and Surname you have entered do not match any of our records.".

That's with copying and pasting, entering manually from paperwork booked for next years cruise and having someone else input the same number

It lets me get to payment, but after going back I could put random letters and it still let me continue to the last screen!

    anyone else having this problem?

  5. Hi all

We've booked a 2 day cruise to Bruges, when looking at the cruise personaliser and P&O FAQs it shows 1 black tie and 1 evening casual night. Is this right ?

I went on Aurora in 2000 on the same iltenary and there wasn't a black tie night then.

    Any advice appreciated. Thanks !

  6. Hi all,

I've been on Oriana around 8 times (last cruise 2007) and booked for 17th June to the Canary islands. I am now 24 and mainly booked this cruise just because of it being on Oriana. I have fond memories of the ship from when I was a kid and wanted to go on her one last time before her time is up!

Back in 2007 the ship wasn't adult only - I was wondering if the average age of the passengers will affect my experience in any way? I've read a few posts on her that describe it as a "floating retirement home"!. I particularly am looking forward to not having kids around if I'm honest! It's never bothered me

On other holidays as my dad is in his 80s, just a few posts and reviews mention the average age was "getting to them"

I intend to watch the shows, swim and just generally laze around. Are the productions in the theatre aimed at an older audience? When I was last onboard they had Bobby crush, a funny northern comedian (played Apache by The Shadows to break up the show a bit) and Eddie the eagle as an inspirational speaker which I enjoyed.

I was considering Britannia initially but my loyalty to Oriana swayed me away. I also booked and found I was in the Atlantic tier of the peninsular club - I never thought my cruises would count from a kid !

    Thanks!
