  1. Yes, a Pullman from the ceiling will not work at all. I have travel beds but that is more to pack and carry. Not ideal but doable. How do I find out if there is a Pullman, a pull out bed, or what the exact bedding accommodations are for the 3rd and 4th guests?

  2. We definitely plan use the kids club and I'm hoping they will be fully potty trained (but that's something we can't predict at this point). The cost to go from a family mini suite to aft penthouse is double the cost. Its a big price jump up so we need to weigh the pros and cons. That's a lot of money and it may not be worth at their age in one mind frame. Of course to others it maybe a no brainier as being in Haven may make the trip slightly easier. At least I have a while to make my final decision.

  3. Thank you mjkacmom! I agree with you that some of the Haven perks are much needed when traveling with little ones. In my opinion, we need the priority embark and disembark, room service and in room dining options, butler assistance with snacks and meals, and priority tender. I suppose our biggest draw against is traveling with twin 3 year old is we won't be using the private pool area unless they are being well behaved, we won't be drinking (very much), we won't be eating out at speciality restaurants with them, we probably won't be seeing shows, and doubt we would have much need for a concierge. Now, all of this is my speculation since this is my first cruise with kids. Just wondering if the extra money is worth it. I'm leaning towards yes but then other days I think it's not. Wonder if anyone in a similar situation can shed light on my see-saw.

  4. I have a family cruise planned for September 2017 on NCL Breakaway (we have twin boys who will be 3 at the time of sailing). I've gone back and forth on the room booked, it's a forward facing room on the Haven level. We got the very last room in that category and the balcony stinks and it has been bothering me. So long story short the next choice up is the aft facing haven level for an additional chunk of money so we decided that's not the best option. I changed to a mini suite mid ship on the 13th floor for about half the price. My question is this how are the mini suites in regards to size for a family of four? Comfortable enough to allow the boys to nap and have their own space? Should we change to a family mini suite? Any additional benefits to that type of stateroom vs a regular mid ship mini suite. How is the embark and disembark process when traveling with small children? One of the biggest draws to haven was priority embark and disembark. Another benefit of haven I liked was room service. Do you have the same room service options in the mini suites? It would be nice to have an option to eat in the room if they are overtired and unable to handle a public meal -they are 3 so we need to be realistic that could happen.

  5. We are flying into FLL for a NCL cruise on the Pearl in January. Can anyone suggest the best way to get to the Port of Miami? Is taxi the easiest? Or book 2 spots on a group van? We don't want to make a lot of stops. One or two okay but we will pay more to avoid stopping at every hotel along the way if that makes sense. Anyone have any great experiences they would like to recommend?

  6. We booked the last available forward facing penthouse for our 9/2017 cruise. The room # is 13706. The room will be 4 people (myself and husband) and our 3 year old twin boys. I've been looking for information on the room and balcony. Is the balcony fully enclosed? Kind of nice to be enclosed with little ones (don't need to worry about climbing) but I also like to have a fresh breeze. Also what is room set up? Is the pull out couch large enough for the boys to share? I'm assuming it will be no issue since they are 3 years old. There is another bed but it comes down from the ceiling that won't work for them (if I had to guess). Wondering if I should keep a look out for another room in this category to come available later on. I hear people change their minds/things come up so another H7 cabin may open up (the cruise is quite a ways away) or should I just keep it and enjoy?

  7. We are taking the Breakaway out of NY to Bermuda for a 7 night cruise in 2017. It will be myself, husband, and twin 3 year olds at time of sailing.

We booked a Haven level forward facing room to get the extra perks. For example, we get to board the ship first (I consider this a gigantic perk when travelling with 2 three year olds). Has anyone booked this cabin level on the Breakaway? Do you feel a lot of motion we are on level 13 of the boat. Should I be concerned about motion sickness? I plan to be preventive just in case. We also have an enclosed balcony, is it fully enclosed?

Also, anyone do this cruise with young kiddos and can give any advice on what to do when at port with the kiddos? If they are not potty trained we won't be able to get off the boat (just me and the hubby, that is) as we will need to be close by for diaper changes. PLEASE let them be potty trained. :) So we will all get off the boat together if they are not potty trained. Which isn't really that big of a deal. Just looking for a nice beach or family activity.

How was the boat for little ones? We plan to take advantage of the kids club since they will be 3 years old they can attend.

  8. Thank you everyone!! I'm definitely leaning towards keeping it as a family vacation. I'm crossing my fingers in 16 months we will have potty training down and better table etiquette. Since the boys are only 22 months old now it's hard to say where they will be 16 months down the road. I deliberately booked so far in advance and a highest cabin level to get added perks. For example, NCL will allow us to embark and disembark first which I find to be a huge benefit with traveling with toddlers.

Since I am their primary caregiver I can say they aren't the most easy going kids but they do have each other as their parter in crime. It works as a pro and con. They always have a best friend but 2 minds are smarter than 1 and they can find trouble at any moment. We haven't vacationed before (well just one quick trip the beach at 9 months old), and we barely go to restaurants. Things are just a bit more difficult with multiples. These are all things we plan to work on (potty/restaurant etiquette) over the next 16 months. That way I'm not just throwing them into a cruise and expecting perfection. We can always plan a couple short getaways close to home before our 2017 cruise. Just to give them a warm up.

Our final payment is due the end of May 2017. We were told we can cancel at anytime and get our deposit back. In lieu of that, could we change the reservation to just my husband and I? I mean keep the price, perks, and same room just the two of us go. That is if at the end May 2017 we reaccess the boys and they are no where near potty trained, we have terrible table etiquette, mini vacations close to home have failed (just a few examples of what can happen). Comparing the price (we got a really good deal) it would only be about 200 bucks cheaper to rebook now for just the two of us. That is another reason I think all four should go (the price is right).

Side note: I should have clarified it is Norwegian cruise line out of NY just a four or five hour drive away from home.

  10. I just booked a Norwegian cruise for 2017 for my family. It will be myself, husband, and twin boys (three years old at time of sailing). We booked a Haven level suite to have added comforts and amenities to make the sailing enjoyable for all of us.

Now that we are booked my husband and I are going back and forth about maybe they are too young and we should re-book just for the two us. One one side, I'd really like to do a fun family vacation, but is cruising the way to go? If we re-book for just the two of us and do a second honeymoon we plan to stay in the Haven level suites.

Can anyone advise if travelling with two 3 year olds is a good idea? Lots to do for kiddos? Anyone been through travelling with toddlers before and really loved it or hated it? Should we leave the kids at home this time and book something when they are closer to 5 years old? We are booked on the Breakaway.
