How can they actually stop you from doing this if you want to? You get off the ship and just don't return.

I have a 4 and a 2 year old so no spa pass for me

Just got off the Breakaway on Sunday and out of my past cruises (about 10) this may have been the most enjoyable one. The only issue I can think of the whole week was the tendering process at GSC and that was all weather related so had nothing to do with NCL. For a boat that was at full capacity and had 1600 kids really at no point did I feel crowded or overwhelmed. It took us about 30 minutes from the time we disembarked to getting through customs.

The larger ones are sold out so that is not an option

We are going to have 6 adults and 4 small kids with us. How strictly do they enforce the 6 person limit? Are they going to give us a hard time with the 4 kids? Will all of us be able to get on the early tender?

Were you a CAS customer on the Jade sailing you just got off of?

Does the Jade departing in Houston have a separate check in area for casino at sea guests like other ports do? The reason I am asking is when I checked in I got a 2pm boarding time but I want to board much earlier then that. If they have a separate casinos at sea check in I am not sure how much that boarding time means then.

I am booked on the Jade on 2/12 through Casinos at Sea. My question is do they have a separate check in area like other NCL ships and ports do? I got a specific boarding time which I never got before and was wondering if that applied to CAS customers also.

I am on the Jade on the 2/13 sailing but having trouble finding the Maya Key excursion. Is it possible it is listed under a different name?

They built Super Bowl Boulevard in Time Square. Broadway is closed from 47th to 34th I believe.

 

There is a huge controversy & animosity going on about this. We're happy to give NYC all the traffic though. :p The latest debacle: the NFL gave the mayor of NYC free tickets but the mayor of East Rutherford where the game is actually being played & whose municipal resources are being taxed beyond their limits did not get tickets.

 

I'd take 80 just to stay as far as possible away from the Stadium.

The owner of the Indianapolis Colts has offered the mayor of East Rutherford tickets for the game so all the mayors are taken care of.

O'Sheehan's is also open

The cheapest blackjack table is $6, I know that is a weird number but that is what it is. There is no electronic roulette table on the ship.

I had 3 in my room for our cruise on the Breakaway in December and we all received the drink cards.

It is the full broadway show without the intermission

I am cruising on a Jan 31st 2 day CTN on Breakaway with a friend. We each want to put our own CC down for the stateroom bill..........is that possible? How can we go about doing something like that?

 

Also, we are booked in a spa stateroom, will they be able to separate the beds into 2 twins?

Yes to both questions. Just tell them that you each want to put down your own credit card when you check in. When you get to your room let your room steward know you want 2 beds.

I hope someone who really knows will answer this question as I too would like to know. On the Gem last year a self proclaimed "seasoned cruiser" advised that if I wanted to sit at the same table/wait staff I would need to make a reservation for the entire week. I am not sure if this is correct but I decided against it because we had planned to dine at a few specialty restaurants.

There is a set time that you need to dine each night to guarantee that you will have the same server each night. I believe it was between 5 and 6, but I could be off on the time a little bit.

Was there a Santa on this cruise? Any Christmas activities for children?

Ship was decorated for Christmas (About 100 people from an outside company got on the boat when we were docked in Port Canaveral and decorated the whole ship while we were in port, it was pretty cool to watch them do it so fast). Not much else going on but we were still 3 weeks away from Christmas when we were on the boat.

Is Impac the replacement for Fire & Ice (I understand they are going on vacation this month)? How many in the band and what kind of music?

 

We'll be going next month.

 

Would love to hear a little detail about your specialty restaurant experiences. Did you book one embarkation night and receive the complimentary wine? We're thinking of booking the Cirque show so it's good to know you enjoyed it (did it on Epic). What did you think of the food there? Did you have a good view?

Impac is the replacement for Fire and Ice, There are 4 guys in the band and they play a wide variety of music. They were very talented.

We ate in Cagney's the first night and since there were 8 of us they gave us 4 bottles of wine and the real great part was since we only drank one bottle the first night they gave us vouchers to use the other 3 during the week.

I thought the food at Cirque was really good, would like it better if you could eat before the show or if they took a brief intermission because there is so much going on you really don't want to look down at your plate and miss something. We had great seats but the venue was only half full.

Did you make it to Great Stirrup Cay on Wednesday? If so, how was it?

We did make it to Great Stirrup Cay. I did not get off the boat so I could not tell you much besides the weather being absolutely beautiful (Captain said it was the best day of the season for them by far). My family members that did get off enjoyed themselves.

Just got off the ship today and there was a total of 8 of us and we had a blast.

The staff on the ship could not be anymore accommodating, we did not run into one crew member who was not overly nice and helpful.

The entertainment on the ship is top notch. Cirque is one of the best shows I have ever seen anywhere, unreal that you can see a show that good on a cruise ship. Rock of Ages was the full broadway show. Michael Finney (Comedian/Magician) very entertaining. Fire and Ice were there for one show and did not disappoint. They then brought in a house band named Impac and they were great also. The blues club was great, those guys are super talented.

We did not have one meal that we did not enjoy (Cagney's, Moderno, Lucina, Teppanyaki, Manhattan Room, Savor, O'Sheehans)

I thought the ship was great. Water slides and the plank were lots of fun.

We were in 13880, aft balcony and I was very happy with the room.

Also did not hurt that we had the best weather that you could have on this cruise, the only day that you really couldn't do much outside was yesterday.

If you are booked on the Breakaway or are thinking of going I would say book it and you will not be disappointed. Some people just look for things to complain about.

For the last 3 weeks now none of the port stops to GSC have occurred due to high winds.

This is not true as they made it on the 11/16 sailing

I was on the Jewel last December and the only difference between the NCL casino and a land based casino was the dealer hit on soft 17 on all tables with a minimum of less then 50 a hand. There were no restrictions on what you can double on and you were permitted to double after splitting. Has anyone been on a cruise since then that can verify this has not changed?

If you play bjack at 50 or more a hand the odds are the same as a land based casino.

So if you are a CAS guest they no longer send a couple of complimentary items to your room during the week?

Does anyone know if they made it there today?
