  1. Booked on Triumph for July 21. Had Aft balcony on sister ship Victory and was on Deck 7. I agree with earlier reply that 7 is between cabins so noise is minimum. Balconies are the same unless you have a corner one. The cabin above you can look into your balcony but if you are back against the wall they cannot see you. Prepare for beautiful sunsets. Enjoy

  2. Thanks for the review! I'll be sailing on the Victory on my very first cruise next month. The negative reviews made me nervous at first, but with this being my first cruise, I have no expectations. :) So I plan to go in with a good attitude no matter what. Glad you had a great time!

You will love the ship, it is very clean and looks even better. Hope your sailing days are smoother than ours. LOL I would recommend the patch as it kept both of us from feeling ill at all. Seasoned cruisers were feeling the effect during our cruise. It was our first cruise also, so we did the same thing as you and whatever happens, happens. I mean your cruising, how bad can it be!!! Hope you have a wonderful cruise.

  3. Nice, thanks!

How much of deck 6 balcony could you see if you were standing at your railing? I don't have a feel for how steep the angle is on the back of the ship. I'm wondering how private our balcony will be from the deck 7 cruisers above us

If you are sitting in your chairs with them push back to the window you can not be seen. If looking down on your deck I could see half of the deck area.

  4. We are staying in cabin 6465 (aft facing balcony) in January. Sounds like the work will be done by then.

    Questions:

Was your floor upgraded? (flat screen TVs and the upgraded bathroom?)

Do you have any photos? Especially of your cabin and balcony area.

    Thanks!

had the flat screen but that was it. Have one pic of the room for now but will post more later.

  5. Well, let me just say that for a first time cruiser, that was a rough ride. LOL We were sent to Gran Turk instead of Freeport and Nassau and the extra sea day I think kicked a lot of peoples butt. The Victory had me worried with all the negative reviews that I had read, but rest assured, she is as beautiful and clean as can be. There was no foul smell at anytime that we were aware of. We had FTTF and it paid for itself time and again during the cruise. The crew was very friendly and always helped in anyway they could when asked. Our state room was 7431 Aft Balcony that was great. So much room and was very private. The only problem we had was that they were doing work just below our cabin and had grinders, saws , hammers and drills, etc. running until 5am. A call to guest services only got ear plugs but after stopping by and talking with Katarina we were compensated for the inconvenience and the issue was taking care of.

We had all of our dinner meals in MDR and it was fantastic. Both the food and service was great. Is the food five star? No, but if you want that then you have to go somewhere else. Remember you are not paying for that. All the staff except for one person had an upbeat attitude and made you feel very welcome. They remember your name if you interacted with them.

If you are concerned about the ship, don't be. Go in with the attitude that you are on a cruise and nothing will upset you and this trip will work for you. I truly believe that if you have issues , Carnival will make amends to make it right for you.

Already planning trip number 2. Happy cruising to you all.:)

  6. Feeling somewhat confused after searching and reading the forums about how you can pay for the pictures for the dolphin encounter on Balmora island. The price looks to be 75 dollars, but have seen where they used sign and sail card to pay. Is that for all services on the island? Any info appreciated.

    thanks

  7. Seems like a silly question, but is it safe to drink tea, soda or cocktails while off the boat in Nassau or Freeport. I could not find any post about this, plenty about the ships water which I know is good. Last thing I want to do is get sick because I was chewing on ice.

  8. They have a pick up from the airport to hotel or hotel to port? Thank you for your help!!!

If you book with them they have a package were they pick up at airport take you to hotel, then hotel to port. We opted to stay 1 night after cruise and they do the same then in reverse. Port to hotel, hotel to airport. Hope this helps. Just search comfort inn and select coco beach and the package is shown on web site. We called and took no time at all.

  9. I am hoping someone can help me with these questions! This will be my first time going on a cruise from Port Canaveral, so not sure of anything! I will be flying from New Orleans, so what airport would I use to fly in for a cruise out out this port? Also, what hotels would be close to the port I need to go to the next morning! Not sure of the port name even! The last question is transportation from the airport to the hotel and then also to the port the next morning? Thanks so much for any information anyone can help with!

abear2, we are flying into Orlando Fl. We are staying at the comfort Inn on coco beach. It is about 10 minutes away and they have a pick up stay then cruise package available. Hope this helps.

  10. No to the lockers... They are more like cubbies. So no lock or door. I just stuffed everything down in the very bottom of our bag and hoped for the best. I wasn't concerned though. There is no one in the building after you leave and an attendant stands at the door.

Thanks for the info, mommytotwins, makes me feel a little better hearing that.

  11. We were in Nassau on January 18 and we went to Balmoral Island through Carnival. It was actually $80 cheaper once we got on board so make sure you look at that.

We loved it. I was worried that it wouldn't be good because of the reviews I had seen. Of course I am sure Blue Lagoon would have been better just because it looks amazing. Prices at Balmoral Island were high. A chicken tender basket and fries was $15. It was enough for my 9 year old twins to share and have enough to eat though. A 20 oz coke was $5. The picture disc was $75 but they give you tons of pictures.

We had a group of 8 that went and they took us all together. When you arrive, you sign a waiver. Then you go and put on life jackets in the building. They aren't in the best shape at all and most are torn. After the do's and don'ts lesson they lead you out to a lagoon type area and there are 4 or 5 dolphins in there between the groups. Our dolphin was Margarita and our "guide" was Bryan. They were great and we really enjoyed it. The water was FREEZING though. The kids had a great time at the beach and found some shells and saw some fish. If I can figure out how to post pictures I will.

I really think it is what you make of it. It isn't 5 stars or anything but based on what we paid for the excursion, I was happy with it.

mommytotwins, are there lockers or other means to keep your stuff safe while in the water. There is only two of us and I am concerned about leaving phone Etc. while in water.

  12. I just received the letter from Carnival and the 16th is not included. I am on the 20th sailing and I live 5 minutes from the port, we always go early...not this time...lol

Thanks, that seems strange but I'm not complaining. have a great cruise.

  13. We'll be on the Victory for the October 9th sailing and we got the notification as well. It states that "Carnival Victory is undergoing a beautification project to enhance our staterooms." I'm a little ticked because we like to board before lunch and just kick back on Lido with a drink!

We will be sailing Oct. 16 but have not seen any letter from Carnival. I have checked spam folder but have nothing. Has anyone sailing on the 16th seen this?

  14. What!! Don't worry about size, just have fun. You will see fellow cruisers in all sizes believe me. It does not matter at all.

I am a fluffy Nana and I have a condition that causes swelling. I will cruise as often and as far as I can.

Last year I went to Tahiti and went swimming with the rays. The world is still spinning and the rays didn't care. All around the world I have seen some good sized wonderful Native people.

Everyone is different and everyone has challenges so just go with a big smile and teach your son that it is what is in your heart that counts. I would love to lose weight but if you see me my face will greet you with a smile. I might be smaller for my next cruise but I am the exact same person.

Enjoy every minute of life and try and unload some of the stress. I know it is very hard but do not pack any extra burdens.

    Smooth sailing

If more people had your attitude, the world would be a better place. Just be yourself and treat people the way you want to be treated. enjoy your cruise.

  15. I like to put on a nice dress and pair of heels, go sit down in the dining room and wait for my waiters to take my order. If the service is too slow there, I move to the kitchen table and wait for the waiters in that room to appear. After being really disappointed with the service aboard this ship, we call out to the Chinese restaurant that delivers.

    Now that is funny lol
