  1. I agree with the others. I'm a first time cruiser but I was extremely nervous about being late. I'm in Central Orlando, but since it is so close to Christmas, I'm flying in to Miami and staying the night before at a hotel and staying the night I return in a hotel. Then I will fly back the next night. Gives me a chance to explore Miami

  2. :D

I'm taking my first cruise in December 2017 too. What sold me was a group I am part of booking rooms and having classes while on board. Look for what you want to do and go from there. I just made my final payment and now I'm counting down the days until I embark.

    Thanks :)

  3. I think it varies from port to port and maybe even week to week, but a lot of people have success bringing on water and soda. It's worth a try. I always carry on bottles of Hazelnut coffee mate, and they've never been confiscated in 18 cruises

Thank you so much for the reply. I will see what I can do :)

  4. Thank you for allowing me a glimpse into what will be my life in just a few short months! I have 300 days till my flight to Miami and 301 till my actual cruise. I'm soooo excited. I have a question about bringing water onboard the boat the day I leave. Is that allowed? I was thinking of bringing a 6 pack of smart water since its my favorite, but I was afraid it would be confiscated.

    Hello,

I'm going to be a first time cruiser in December of next year. The Big Guy (my hubby) is on pd dialysis. So lets start with my question:

    Packing:

I have to take the machine, cassettes, and any gauze with me. Does this count as a carry on or is it "medical?" Should I have a note from his doctor stating that he has to have this stuff?

    Fluids:

We do 2 rounds of treatment (1 manual, and 12 hours overnight). So when the fluid gets there will it all be in my stateroom or will they hold it and I get it daily as I need it?

    Mobility:

And if we bring a wheel chair or rent a scooter...that has to stay in the room too. Will there be room for all of that? What about plugs? Can I bring a power strip to plug in all of the machine needs plus have room for charging? Can I get that from my steward? So many questions, but I have time and want to be "in the know!"

    Thank you!

  6. Thanks for the quick response!

I totally agree with the 7 days. I want the vacation not to be tired as soon as I'm done. I also want to experience "Sea days".

Also, traveling with the husband (Big Guy) involves a lot of work since he is on dialysis and needs mobile assistance. I keep thinking the cruise would make that easier for both of us. Excursions I will be alone unless we actually dock at port and he is okay with that and so am I. I'm very excited lol!

  7. Hello :)

The Big Guy and I are planning our very first cruise. We are thinking of taking a 7 day cruise in the Bahamas. Now my questions are the normal ones for a beginner:

Should we go for that long on our first cruise? There are lots of shorter some as little as 36 hours (give or take), but I was thinking kind of go big or go home!

    Any thoughts appreciated!
