We loved the UDP, never had issues anywhere getting drinks, most drinks, wine and all beers are under the $15 limit. The only time it appeared you'd have to pay extra was on tasting flights, generally $20, but they give you a 20% discount on those if you absolutely want to have one. Otherwise, just order the full size drinks and don't worry about any extra cost! :-)
As for the dining, we ate at Cagney's (excellent steak), La Cucina (outstanding service) and Los Lobos (different twist on Mexican, but still excellent). Los Lobos prices were by far the cheapest, so if you have to pay out of pocket, definitely the restaurant you want to do that in. We never had an issue w/ any of our orders, but the amount of food is usually so much, that we never tried to get multiples of anything, but I think they would honor any reasonable request, or you just pay the extra amount.
We loved our cruise, still suffering withdrawl after docking last Saturday. Would absolutely recommend this cruise on the Bliss and despite what you may read about crowds, etc, we never really had any issues. Make your reservations as early as possible, but don't fret if you don't get everything reserved before the cruise or immediately upon boarding. We easily got into comedy shows and such without reservations. About the only thing that seems to be problematic is the go-karts, but we did manage a reservation for that too made the first afternoon on board. The forward set of elevators do get crowded, especially at peak times (meals & shows). Use the aft elevators, the stairs or even take an elevator the opposite direction, then ride it to where you want to go.
The biggest complaint we had was finding a seat in the buffet. But avoiding peak times or simply sitting in the outer area between the indoor buffet and the pool area always had seating, even at peak times and is still protected from the weather. We highly recommend the spa pass, purchased ours for $199 pre cruise and loved every minute of it. They actually limit the number of passes they sell and to be honest, there was only ever one time in the six days and 15 hours I spent in the spa that was "crowded" and by crowded, I mean there was one lounge chair for each person present (approx 60).

The Spa Pass includes access to everything, except treatments?

We are scheduled to sail December 3rd. I am trying to find out what entertainment is available. Are there any stage shows, comedy clubs, musicals, etc.?

They only allow Diamond status in lounge. They may not check, but it is posted.
Nice perk if you drink, 3 free drinks each evening. If in lounge it is unlimited drinks. Various discounts on purchases. There are more, but that is all I think of for now!

Okay now this seems more like what we were hoping for. So the official sail away show is a literal "sit down show"??
I just wanted a cocktail, some music and a hug from King Julian wouldn't hurt either.:D:D:D
I guess I will head to the main pool deck...see you there NC teacher!:D
Yes, deck 15! I was there last week!
-
Forgot to add, yes they are very close to land version restaurants...fried rice and all. No fire tricks!
-
Is the Teppanaki table like a Japanese Steakhouse on land...with the fried rice and dipping sauces? If so...do they have the East Coast "yummy yummy" sauce? It's a mayo-based, and slightly pink/orange sauce?
The tables are for 8, but they maybe able to squeeze 9 if it is a kid. No, yum yum sauce, but they have a sauce you can ask for that is there substitute for yum yum sauce.

There is a sail away party with band in the Main pool area.

My wife and I dress for 70's night. We were the only ones dressed, but that was okay, because we got a lot of attention. I would post a picture, but I don't know how.
My group is on the Oasis in July and we are planning to dress up in 70s fashion. I've never done it before, but 70s party is one of my favorite events on the ship!
-
Yes, the last of the three chandelier photos I took. It was one of my favorites!
I really enjoyed playing around with my camera this trip. As I said earlier, the Oasis makes for a great subject. Between the ship and the islands, I took hundreds of photos. I could have used another day to play around in Central Park, though!

Hi Niksmom630,
I am curious what type of camera and lens you used to take your beautiful photos. Also, did you shoot in primarily in program or manual mode?
Can't wait until my turn!!
Thanks

Very nice pics! Thanks for helping me thru this dreary weather on the east coast :(
I am not sure if I missed a post, but did they have the 70s party on the promenade ??

Great review! I will be on Oasis
with a group in July and can not wait. Your pictures are beautiful. I don't remember what night they have the 70s party, but hope you post pics. Have fun and keep them coming!

Oh boy! Bucket's Brother-in-law is a hot dog fan as well! They have contests who can order the most loaded hot dog...truly gross! Lol

JC we ate at Giovanni's for our first onboard meal and are scheduled for Chops on Tuesday.
Are you using Tapatalk? I'm trying to figure out why it won't load on my iPad.
I am using the iPad version of Cruise Critic...not sure if it called Tapatalk. Did you go thru the App Store and login thru iTunes?

Our experience has been once it starts, it continues on every flight thereafter.
Great to know!!
-
Yup that's how it works plus the $125 pp for 5 years. We travel to Haiti a couple of times a year and worth I going thru customs in Miami! We made it thru TSA in about 2 mins and the rest of our group were about 15 mins behind us!
Great to hear! Thanks.

JC how does the "trusted traveler" work and what did you do to get it?
We rec'd the offer thru our Amex. It is called GOES...Global Online Enrollment System. Once you enroll online, an email is sent after your info is validated to schedule an appt. We had to go to the Dept of Homeland Security in D. C. for the security interview. I guess if you don't have a record of any type the process is easy. We had no issues at all. We rec'd our ID card in mail a few weeks later. As I understand it, we will log in our ID number when doing the airline online checkin and eazy breezy at the airport. Since we haven't used it yet, can't confirm for sure.
