    To be continued…..

Saw this yacht (OCTO) on the Monaco Webcam today. They are set up for the Grand Prix at the end of the month I assume. The harbor during the race is overflowing with yachts this size. That's a swimming pool under that cover in back.

    Cons:

If drinking and gambling is your thing, there are no casinos on Disney ships. Things also tend to wrap up fairly "early" compared to other cruise lines, though there are some clubs open until 1 or 2.

Is there any food available late? Our group is taking our first Disney Cruise in June. We are all adult seasoned cruisers who tend to stick to ourselves but we like to hang out and drink and eat late into the night. Does the ship shut down at 1?

But did you enjoy the cruise?

I believe this was a review of the Pride. Not a review of their cruise. My analogy would be if they posted a review of the Disneyland hotel and then you replied, "did you enjoy your time in the park?" Every review has its purpose.

  4. Just off the Vista this morning and did see the longest lines I have ever experienced on Carnival and this is my 3rd since restart. The longest line was pizza after 11 PM. The line at several times stretched to the Seafood Shack and then turned and went across the pool deck almost to the Bar. Wait was easily an hour since several times there was one person working. I think there isn't one lone thing. The changes in hours for several food venues almost funnels people into big lines and the staffing is absolutely an issue.

Went to Seaday Brunch yesterday and order wasn't taken for 35 minutes. We were talking so time wasn't that big a deal but over 60  minutes for breakfast (several mistakes on our order as well) is a bit much.

Eventually something will give. Came across several staff members who were frazzled to say the least. We way over tipped just in the hopes of letting them know we get it.

I agree. I think VeriFLY will reject it. They can then do one of two things (they are in another location and not here with us).

This is what makes me laugh about Verifly. I highly suspect that all your paperwork is being routed offshore to some person sitting in a cubicle looking at your paperwork and then putting a virtual check or X on the account. It just screams of TSA theater. You can send them a picture of your vaccine card but you can't show a picture of your vaccine card at the port. The Verifly people don't do anything that the smiling agent at check in does.

Drat, mine is showing the same in AZ. No appointments after May 22.
Looks like I better order the home proctored tests.

CVS is still doing tests. Don't know if you are in Phoenix but they do testing in an old CVS at 43rd and Bethany. They have appointments 2 weeks out right now. Last time I went there it was free but don't know what it is now. We have 8 of us going next month so I'm just ordering the test kit too. Just too much of a hassle to get us all there on the same day.

  7. Yes you need the original card at the terminal. The whole system is rather bizarre because you can't show a photo of the card at the terminal but you can upload a photo of the card to Verifly where nothing special happens except the person who looks at the photo is likely in some call center building in another country. This is not a comment on the need for a vaccine or whatever,  just pointing out that consistency is lacking in the execution.

  8. As others have said, 15 minutes is way too late for first few groups. There are actual YouTube videos showing you how to get early slots. I was reserved in under a minute on last cruise. There are a surprising number of people like me who want to get right on the ship to wander around aimlessly with no cabin for no apparent reason. 🙂

  9. Just make sure to turn off Summon standby and Sentry mode (it's important to turn off the former before you leave because it can't be controlled remotely, while Sentry can), because they prevent the car from sleeping. You'll lose roughly 1-2% battery charge per day this way.

Or you can completely power off and lose only 2% in a week.

7 people are complaining on another forum that they are positive, probably the same ones that were all jammed inside the jacuzzi.

Anyways 4000 passengers and I didn’t see anyone sick, I tested yesterday with the OTC kit, no issues. I wore my N95 mask and my black cloth mask over it.

No one seen in isolation nor anyone walking around in Hazmat suits. It was a great cruise.

Everyone complied with the rules and was told to wear their masks if they forgot to put it on.

I did see 2 Hazmat down on deck 1 forward I believe. Another passenger on 9 told me that their neighbor was relocated after leaving Cabo.

  11. Does anyone who has sailed recently know if they still provide surveys at the end of the cruise?
Currently on the Panorama and have experienced two straight evenings of really horrible service for anytime dining in the Vista dining room that I feel really needs to addressed.   The waiter I had last night was wonderful but the entire check in crew up front is frankly a disorganized mess to the point that tonight I simply gave up and left before getting seated and went to the lido for dinner.

The number of college kids on spring break who are maimed or die while intox rarely make national news

50 million hits on google "student dies spring break" says most of them do. I'm not in a spring break hotbed and hear about them on the news at least every few days in March and April. Heck I have read full articles in major publications just on that subject alone. My point was that the cruise isn't the story. It's the dying in an unusual/terrifying/mysterious way.

Sad, but I hate the way these stories play out. Unfortunately, about 95,000 people in the US die from alcohol-related injuries each year. How often do they make the news? Since it is on big, scary, boat, it becomes a big deal. This kind of stuff scares people away from cruises. When in reality, its like .00001% of people fall off, from doing stupid, preventable, stuff.

Drunk and falling in public way will always make national news. Not specific to cruises at all. Dorm and hotel balconies as well as stadium/arena upper decks will also make big news. It just plays into our fears of falling and heights that makes it news. Not to mention the amateur detectives out there who can't resist a whodunit.
