  1. My closest ports are Mobile, AL and New Orleans, LA. We have taken 5 cruises, all out of those 2 ports and all on "smaller" ships. We just got back from the Dream yesterday. Based on our current situation and ages of our children, we prefer the Fantasy.

All have Camp Ocean, which my kids love. The Dream however didn't have a kids water splash pad. Instead they had 2 smaller waterslides for the little ones, but my kids didn't like those. They absolutely loved the splash pad on the Fantasy though as it was interactive and had spouts and buckets that dump. The only water spouts on the Dream were at the top of the slides, and you had to then go down the slides. Staff was watching and directing traffic so there wasn't a jam up there.

  2. Here’s one article I found on the subject and yes I have seen it enforced.

Here is right from Carnival’s website. And you were saying?????

I like the time policy on the chairs. We just back from the Dream yesterday though and this was not used. while I don't use the sun chairs, I make lots of trips to the buffet. :)

  3. I can confirm from flying into MSY in June that Uber can pickup. They can't pull up the the terminal so you have to cross the street to the lot. They wait there.

I've never tried Lyft (get Starwood points with uber) but in talking to the Uber drivers a lot work for both companies.

  4. While we are not regular cruisers I can tell you why we selected Carnival - Value

We took our very first family cruise vacation last year on the Elation out of NOLA. Family of 4 cruised for $1,100.

Kids absolutely loved Camp Carnival and the food was great. Everyone was so friendly.

Was also happy to see folks from all walks of life there. Carnival used to have a reputation for a party ship but we saw more families there than anything.

    We also priced Disney....... Yeah......

Anyway we go on our second family cruise in October on the Triumph in October.

  5. Fantasy was my first ship to cruise on so will always be special. I hated to see her leave NOLA. But she will be moving to Mobile soon and I have a 5 day booked on her for May 2017!

If you don't mind me asking how long ago was that? We took the Elation out of NOLA last year (our first cruise). Returning to NOLA on the Triumph in October.

We are looking forward to Carnival returning to Mobile AL some we are in Huntsville.

  6. Take the mattress and put it on the floor...nowhere to fall! Tell the kid it's "adventure sleeping"..they will love it!

We didn't move the mattress but brought a sleeping bag and used the extra blankets in the room. Kids loved it.

  7. Atlantis Submarine replied to my TripAdvisor question very quickly. In case anyone else is wondering:

"Thanks for contacting us, we do have a restroom just for emergencies on our boat that takes you to the dive site, inside the submarine there´s no restrooms. We do have restrooms in our facilities to be used before getting on the tender."

Ill take a 4 year having to pee as an emergency. ;)

  8. Good Evening,

In looking through the reviews at TripAdvisor, I am getting conflicting information about restrooms. I understand that there are no restroom facilities on the submarine itself, but is there a bathroom on the boat that takes you to the submarine? Travelling with a 4 and 5 year old and when they have to go they have to go.......

    Thanks.
