  1. I believe our ferry back to the Port for Royal Caribbean ran two times, 1 pm & 2 pm. The Norwegian ship had a return time as late as 4:00. Our ship was leaving at 4:30, so perhaps that played a role in the earlier return times. We did the Dolphin Encounter so we didn't have much time to explore Blue Lagoon. It was a cute island, but my husband was not super impressed (outside of our exersion). It's a significant boat ride from the port, at least 30 minutes, but it felt longer. I'm sure your dad could find some shade if he really wanted to join the family, but I also don't think he would miss much if he chose to stay on the ship that day. Hope this helps some!

  2. Does the whole family have to pay the amount Dolphin Encounter? Our two kids want to do the encounter/swim, can my husband and I pay for just them and watch or do we need to pay the full price for the 4 of us since we'll need to take the ferry over etc?

  3. We did the BL Dolphin Swim, which was basically the Encounter plus the foot push. It was great. The staff was wonderful and the dolphins incredible.

We did hang out on the beach close to the tender dock... the beach wasn't great, maybe there were other areas on the island where it was better.

The ferry/ tender boat ride was fine, 20-30 mins ago each way. Not bad at all. If you're on a Carnival ship, the tender dock is right there, but if you're on an NCL or RCL ship, you'll have a long walk there and back, but there is a free van shuttle that runs within the Nassau dock area.

Thank you for the tips! Do you feel the swim was worth the extra cost compared to the encounter? Also, does the whole family have to pay the amount? Our two kids want to do the encounter/swim, can my husband and I pay for just them and watch or do we need to pay the full price for the 4 of us since we'll need to take the ferry over etc?

    Thanks!

  4. As an update, I was at the Atlantis today. We are on the Norwegian Escape and were were in Nassau from around 12h15 to an all aboard of 6h30. I had booked beach tower for 35,000 and really glad I did. The check in desk is 1 minute walk from where taxi drops you. We were checked in within 5 minutes. They gave us room keys and some vouchers for water bottles. They also gave us wifi information and since I was a platinum member they gave us bonus points. After we got our room key, we walked towards the water park and went to a towel hut to grab our bracelets and towels. So essentially total cost was $4 per person per way for taxi, $67 US resort fee which was paid on check in and 35,000 Marriott points. Pretty good deal compared to the price of the cruise ship excursion and we were likely there longer than the ship excursion since no waiting on a group.

Thank you so much for sharing this information!

  5. Does anyone know how many people can eat from the lunch buffet if we reserve the Cabana? My husband and I will have our two kids (ages 8 & 11) with us, but my parents are also coming as a surprise to the kids. Would all 6 of us be able to eat from the buffet? (Note, there are 3 separate rooms for the 6 of us).

    *First cruise 😀
