  1. I'm hoping someone who has been on Oasis recently/frequently can help me with a time zone question for at sea days.

I'm planning a privately booked excursion of a boat charter for SCUBA diving in Cozumel (Oasis, July 5th departure). We are scheduled to dock in Cozumel at 8am, and the boat generally leaves at 8am (though since it is a private charter, being a few minutes late is no big deal). My question is twofold:

    1. Does the Oasis stay on Eastern time throughout the cruise and follow Eastern time for her itinerary? If so, that would mean that an 8am arrival in Cozumel on the ship schedule would actually be 7am Cozumel time, in which case I'd have plenty of time to catch my boat, which is only 10 minutes from the pier.

    2. Does Oasis usually get to Cozumel on time or earlier than scheduled on the Western itinerary? Or should I be worried about getting in late? Again, a few minutes late is fine, but I don't want to be very late for my boat or else my fun SCUBA dive time will be limited!

    Thanks for the help!

  2. Hi everyone!

I'm sailing on Oasis in July, currently in a JS. Prices are looking good, so I'm toying with the idea of upgrading to a Grand Suite instead. I know the jump from JS to GS comes with a lot of extra suite perks: priority boarding, concierge lounge access, reserved seating at shows, private deck seating, Barefoot Beach at Labadee, etc. That all sounds great!

Here is the catch: I'm traveling with another two people in a separate cabin which will not be a suite. Given that we're planning on spending most of our time together (we aren't two separate romantic couples - this is a girls' trip for my bachelorette), it seems like most of the real suite perks would be wasted if the other two couldn't also partake. Is there anything they can tag along with? If not, I don't think it would be worth the upgrade cost.

Thanks in advance for the help from more veteran cruisers!

  3. A month later, but catching this thread now since I am investigating rentals for my summer cruise out of Port Everglades.

It sounds like the closest rental centers are less than a mile from the port proper... if so, it would be possible to walk instead of taking a shuttle, right? Or is there some impediment (aside from potentially heavy baggage, obviously) that would make that not feasible?
