  1. We cruise with Dion Sanders and his wife back in 2003, I think. It was on the Ecstasy to Mexico. I'm a huge Cowboys fan so it was very cool. We were both in suites so we had the same Muster station. After the drill I just went over and told him I was a huge fan and shook hand. He was very gracious. He sat next to me at blackjack later on the cruise hut I let him be. He was on vacation after all. [emoji41][emoji41]

  2. We are on the Dream in early November. I want to hug Daniel Johnson! I am going to make it my mission to meet him and thank him for what he does.

Thank you for the photos and info!

We are sailing on her Nov 5th. Is that you guys, too? We are so excited!

  3. Loving your review. I'm really looking forward to your thoughts on Daniel Johnson's. We will be on the Dream in September, and I'm hoping to visit the sloths and monkeys.

Would it be possible to do Little French Key and Daniel Johnson's the same day? Are they in safe walking distance of each other?

Great question. I'm wondering the same thing for us in November. We were planning on LFK but my kids would LOVE sloths and the monkeys!

  4. Love this thread...even though it is a bit old.

I've been sober almost 4 years now. My husband and I took a cruise last December for my birthday...it was my 26th cruise but my first since I quit drinking.

My husband quit when I quit and we were blown away by what a great time we had. So much better than all of my other drinking cruises combined! And never any pressure to drink. We brought the wine from the steakhouse to Grandma who was watching the kids!

No hangovers. No bad decisions. And no gigantic bar bill at the end!

We are taking our kids who are seven and eight on the Dream this November and I'm so excited to introduce them to cruising and to be fully present with them. I'll admit I was worried at first since all of my past cruises were pre hubby/kids and total party fests! But the worry was for naught.

    Happy Cruising to All! #ODAT

  5. Thanks for all the info and feedback. We are going on the Dream in November and can't wait! It will be our first time on such a big Carnival ship and our first time with the kids, 7&8. It looks like it's going to be an awesome time. Now, if it would just get here! LOL:cool::cool:

  6. Happy almost your birthday! We'll be there too only my birthday isn't actually until the week after the cruise. But this is the date that worked for us so we'll just extend my birthdaying for a week or two. (not like I don't do that every year anyway. :D )

OP, thanks for the review and the Fun Times too. I hope they keep some of those movies for December.

Thanks! Same to you! Can't wait!

  7. Thank you for posting! My hubby and I will be on the Valor for the 12/1 3 night to celebrate my 45th and our 1st cruise since before our first child was born in 2008! We have done over 20 cruises, but all pre-kiddos. Reading some of the reviews have been sort of disheartening. But, I agree...we are going to enjoy each other and have some fun. Unmet expectations can be the mother of all disappointment! LOL :):)
