  1. I  booked Blackberry this past Sunday for our trip in April and it is 44 pounds total  for the trip in a Saloon car (which looks like a mid size sedan) for my husband, me, 2 pieces of checked luggage and 2 pieces of carry on luggage from Heathrow to our hotel in Bloomsbury. The chat feature on the website made it easy, and after an overnight flight we are happy to pay a bit extra to avoid toting all that luggage on trains to taxis to hotel.

  2. Hey Steve,

Just spent about an hour going through this thread and reliving the cruise.

So much fun seeing photos our food (I can vouch that these were real served meals and not staged food photos!).

Jon and I agreed that our dinner companions "made" the cruise for us- it was an absolute joy spending time with you and Shari, Tom and Beth, and our other table mates as well as those that we met in the meet and greet and kept bumping into on the ship.

Take care and safe travels home.

  3. I arranged the meet & greet for the Emerald last month. I booked thru a TA. I made the arrangements direct with princess. I have never had the problem you had. Did you call the person on the list for your ship? Or Princess.com?

I called the 800# for princess as instructed here. I didn't see any list for the ship. Luckily, my travel agent gave me the email for the person at Princess who arranges the group events and she got back to me and the meet and greet is now arranged.

I think I got a phone representative who just didn't want to do anything or even give me any information.

  4. I volunteered to call Princess and after being on hold for half an hour, was told that since I booked with a travel agent, the travel agent would have to call to arrange the meet and greet. I tried telling the woman on the phone that was not the information that I had received, but she checked with her supervisor and would not budge. However, she did suggest that I purchase some chocolate covered strawberries or champagne.

I booked with an internet travel agent (who actually was very good- got us free prepaid gratuities and an upgrade post payment) and left a message with her, but haven't heard back yet and feel a bit bad about asking this of her. Its something that I should have been able to arrange.

So a heads up- have someone who booked directly with Princess arrange your meet and greet.

  5. Lots of stories, but there's nothing like the first time. Which for me was an Alaskan cruise on the Cunard Princess with my 2 aunts and uncle. I was almost 21yo, post a recently broken engagement, and it was 1979. My single aunt and I got an invitation to the officer's ward room where they had a cocktail party the 2nd night of the cruise for single ladies and the ships officers. Aunt Phyllis quickly made herself scarce (she was so not interested) and I found myself in a room with a few other young single women and many, many young, single, handsome and charming English officers. Let me just say that that cruise restored my ego, was my personal love boat experience, and started a life long love of cruising (not to mention a very strong attraction to any English accent). No long term relationship developed as a result but I had a very intense and happy week on that ship. It makes me smile:hearteyes:;) just to think about it even now, so many years, cruises, a 31 year marriage, and 2 grown children later.

  6. I was very happy to get the gratuities for my husband and me, as well as an upgrade to a BB from BE balcony for our Dec 10 Caribbean Princess Panama cruise. And that was going through an internet travel agent, post final payment. Didn't really expect anything to be honest, but was hopeful based on what I saw written here. I also want to thank everyone who posted- I never would have looked or try to get anything added on at this point!
