  1. When my travel agent (mother in law ) called she put me on the phone they had cabins closer to the aft but the one more forward that we picked was a little closer to an elevator . Honestly we don't care about aft or forward the only time we care about aft is when we are on the true aft on the back of the ship which we love. We saved a ton on money doing guarantee we just didn't want obstruction from the lifeboats or to be on the first cabin all the way forward . So we are happy now. We usually care more on longer cruises . We are just doing a shorter one to use some credit card points .

Can I ask why you wouldn't want the first cabin all the way forward? I have been assigned one on another ship and to me it looks ok, but am I missing something?

  2. Hi Ken

Do you know how the LaQuinta is in Linthicum for a Park & Cruise? It has a decent price and reviews are better than the closer one. The only thing is we would have to get a taxi or Uber both ways, so I was just wondering about neighborhood? Should we pay some more for a better neighborhood? I would like to spend about $150 if possible. Thanks for any info you can give me in advance.

  3. The beach is directly in front of the beach beds and beach bungalows. When you get off the ship, you checkin at the excursion desk and they will show you where you get picked up. They take you on a golf cart to South Beach (which I believe was previously Barefoot Beach). There is a bar right there between the Bungalos and Beds, and the bathroom is behind the Bungalos. They come around and give a menu so you can order food they bring to you, or you could request a ride back if you want the food with everyone else. We loved it. We had my in-laws with us that needed the shade, plus my 4 year old really needed the shade. We also loved that it was only the people in the beds and Bungalos. We hate crowds That we normally find at a beach, this was nice and secluded.

I just want to clarify as I had plans to go to barefoot beach on my upcoming visit to CocoCay. Please verify that only people that rent the Bungalows and Beds can go to barefoot beach now. Thank you for any information received.

  4. what about items that showed 20% off red mark , but the price was not 20% off the original price ??? anyone investigated this ?

I had booked an excursion that originally was $89 pp. The sale price minus the 20% was listed as $72. It should have been $71.20, but was enough of a difference for the three people I booked it for, for me to cancel and rebook under the sale. Just my opinion.

  5. I would ask this on the Florida departures board. A lot of knowledgable people respond with good information.

    Here is the link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=495

Being new to Cruise Critic, I didn't know that there was this board or that I could post a question on it about what to do. I did go onto the board and got a lot of good advice just by reading old posts, so thank you one and all.

  6. The excursion they have listed is the Hop On/Hop Off Miami City Tour. Sounds nice, but for $45 pp, a little pricey. Yes it is poor work on Royals part. Second thing I have come across that I am not happy about, the first being the price of the basic soda package. Soda is so cheap, and they want to charge $9.50 a day for the package. Not happy about that either. Oh well, I will be buying a single soda only when I crave it the most.

  7. I am sailing RCCI in November and have the same problem. I even called and asked if any excursions would be added (there is only one listed) and they said no. I have done a little research and there are numerous options available offered on independent sites. I think we are just going to stay on the ship, less chance of getting bit by a Zika infected mosquito. Good luck in your search.
