Have you tried Homewood Suites FLL? I doubt they are over $200 per night. Clean and I believe they have shuttle service.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I just looked on-line and they are well over $300 for one night, so its another no go. My guess is there must be a lot of ships leaving Port Everglades the last weekend in March or a lot of fans are in town for March Madness?

No luck finding a room for late March under $200. I tried Priceline and bid low as others have suggested for the airport region and was rejected three times so I've about given up and will probably have to pay over $250+ for a decent room that we will be using just to shower and sleep a few hours in.

CAUTION: I have taken about 35 cruises including about 10 from Fort Lauderdale. The taxi drivers in Ft.L are crooks! make sure you ask them how much the ride will be BEFORE you get into the car and make sure they put the meter on when you get into the taxi.

This past Nov. a group of about 8 of us were getting a van-taxi. Before I got into the taxi, I asked how much it would be. HE WOULD NOT ANSWER... so a police person heard my question, and the policeman said "he will be putting the meter on".... he started the van, went for a few seconds and I asked him again if he could put the meter on. He THEN said that it would be a set fee for each person riding the van!!!! It is ALL of them, ALL the time! CROOKS!

Silvia, You are SO CORRECT as MOST of the CABBIES in FLL are CROOKS because what happened to you also happened to me two years ago. I wrote to the Ft. Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, and they told me that if I ever visit their fair city again, and it happens again that to be sure to get the number of the Cab, and report it to them so that they will take action to be sure that the driver will be fined. Also they said if I had the cab number they could help in obtaining a refund.

We will be on the Royal Easter Sunday 20th. But the ship disembarks that day. Do they have a church service or a sunrise service? Anything special to celebrate Easter?

You should send an email to Princess Cruises in Santa Clarita, CA to ask this question to be sure. I doubt if there would be a service because the earliest new passengers coming aboard the Royal would not be until sometime after 11 AM. Unless a Reverend would be remaining on board from the previous cruise would be the only possibility, or if the Captain himself held a service? You should still see a nice display of Easter eggs and candy for the children in the Piazza-Atrium remaining for at least another day.

I thought about taking this cruise because we always like to go on a cruise each year around Easter, but decided to wait until next year when the cruise will be a ten day cruise instead of a seven day cruise. Hope you enjoy your cruise!

I can't remember if they were on the Dawn back in late Sept./early Oct. last year or not, but I missed seeing them if they were.

 

After reading so many good reviews of them I'd hoped to catch their performance(s) this next sailing (late June).

Jose & Patti did a couple of Great shows on the Pride of America sailing around the Hawaiian Islands and as a previous poster said, Jose nails Neil Diamond! In fact, if you close your eyes I'll bet you couldn't tell them apart, and Patti is just a bundle of energy. They will be in Hawaii until July 11th and will be returning to the fall sailings on the NCL Dawn from September 12th thru October 10th.
