  1. I am personally fine with once a day service, but I understand people who feel they have always had two and want two. I would not cut my gratuity, because I personally feel the amount is a fair amount even for once a day service, but again I understand people who feel they should reduce their gratuity.

My question is, "Will you quit cruising Carnival because of this?"

Unless a lot of people stop choosing to cruise with Carnival, or they lose a lot of employees and find it hard to hire new ones, they will not hesitate to go through with the change. Reducing your gratuity because you believe you are being overcharged for half as much service is valid, feeling it will deliver a message to Carnival is misguided. Carnival Corporation likely won't know you did it, and would be even less likely to care.

You make a very good point. Even though once vs twice a day service isn't a deal breaker for me, where else will they start to cut corners if there aren't people to make enough noise to let them know they aren't okay with the changes?

  2. I didn't ask the Maitre D' which is obviously my fault, but honestly just didn't realize it was an option. I assumed since the ship was full, I was kinda stuck, especially trying to move a table of 9.

Funny, it was adults that I encountered that were rude. I am sure there were unruly kids (mine got in trouble for splashing at one point) but I just don't notice the kids. Lol

  3. The only reason I did the dining room was, because as a mom. Whose kids were traveling with her, it was less hassle and more relaxing to be served. If I had been cruising kid free, you get I would have done lido after the first night of that bunch. I really just thought as full as the cruise was that asking for a different table was pointless. That's a mistake on my part. I should have at least asked.

  4. We encountered incorrect orders every night as well as long waits for food. I know that this review doesn't seem like it, but I'm really not much of a complainer. I typically take things in stride but it was hard to overlook the combination of factors here. I met plenty of friendly people, but I definitely encountered my fair share of rude peoeple too and some of the worst of them just happened to be sitting behind mr at dinner

  5. The movement we felt was on sea days, rather than just coming in and out of ports and tbh, that was the least of my worries. I mean, at night it kinda sucked but it wasn't a deal breaker.

Our ship was sold out completely so I kind of figured there wasn't going to be a table to switch to is why I didn't ask. I did consider it though.

Good to know, thanks for the info. I honestly enjoyed the "cruising" ideal, just some of the logistics of this particular cruise weren't great. I hope I can convince my boyfriend to try another. He's far less open minded than I am lol

  6. Just got home from my first ever cruise. My family of 5(myself, boyfriehd, and 3 kids ages 16, 12, and 7) traveled with my parents who have cruised twice previously and my brother and sister who are also first time cruisers. My parents adore cruising and were so excited to share the experience with us. Because of this, I had VERY high expectations. I am sad to say some of them were not met. Embarkation was extremely easy and smooth. We cruised out of New Orleans, and from the time we walked into the port building until boarding the ship was probably 45 minutes tops. Once on board, we were quickly able to go to our rooms, drop off our things, and grab some lunch. From there, things went awry. The good was ok. Not fabulous but not bad either. I will say that we never had bad service. Everyone we came in contact with was as welcoming and helpful as can be. However, we are in the dining room every night and our table was seated between 2 tables who knew each other. We could not hold a conversation because they were literally yelling across us to each other. Yana and Naman (our servers) were sweet as can be, but it is obvious they needed more help. Our wait times between courses was long, frequently orders were messed up, and twice in one night my mom ordered a drink she never received. Rude passengers abounded. Not only in the dining room but everywhere. Obviously that is not Carnivals fault, just something that made our cruise harder to enjoy. The ship was crowded, and the layout seemed a bit screwy causing major traffic jams at lido restaurants. We did absolutely love the comedy shows and most of the live music we caught was pretty good. We did notice the smell of sewage in the halls sometimes. The ship movement was awful. Most nights I couldn't sleep pevsyse our closet doors were creaking and banging (they didn't close properly) Now, I said all of that to say this, this particular cruise experience wasn't that pleasant but it doesn't turn me away from cruising or from carnival. In fact, I'd love to try again soon and have a better experience. I'm hoping this was a fluke. I did enjoy the entertainment on the ship and the staff were as friendly as you could ever hope for. All in all i would rate the cruise a 5 our of 10.

  7. Bf and son applied for his passport on July 19 and we had it in hand by the 29th. I also applied on the 19th but due to my visual impairment had some complications with my picture that I had to send extra documentation for. Even with those delays I still had it by self 1st and most of the delay was in my part, waiting on medical records. I couldn't believe how fast routine processing was
