  1. Thanks for the update folks. What solo events are the norm and are they worthwhile attending? Such thing as a pub crawl - always a good way to bump into others with a few bevvies onboard :) Out of curiosity too, are there closing times for the bars/nightclubs or they do they just keeping going til the last person leaves? I've already the UBP :)

  2. Hi Folks.

I'm a first time cruiser and heading off on 12 November from Port Canaveral. Just curious as to what type of events do NCL normally put on for single travellers as opposed to solo travellers. I see other cruises put on singles events/dating events but can't seem to find anything online in relation to NCL. Staying in a studio room which I'm told has access to the studio lounge and that there is a meeting most evenings. Looking forward to meeting new people but saying that I'd like to meet people in my own age group too (male, 31 from Ireland).

Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks :)

  4. Hi All

I'm Keith (31), single solo traveller from Ireland heading on my first cruise with NCL on 12 November.

Just wondering if any other singles on the same cruise?

Do the cruise tend to line up any events for singles as opposed to solo travellers? Anyone with any prior experience of the Epic, which are the best bars etc to meet people by day/night?

  5. Hi All

I am a solo traveller (Irish, male, early 30s) and will be going on my first cruise from Orlando (Port Canaveral) on the 12th November. Cruise stops at Tortola, St. Thomas & Great Stirrup Cay.

I will be staying in the studios allocated to solo travellers on the cruise and I believe that there is also a solo traveller lounge.

As I have never really travelled on my own before, I am a little apprehensive about going into the unknown but also very excited. I am looking for a relaxed holiday but also a bit of adventure and good nights out onboard.

Looking to see if anyone male/female has been on this cruise before as a solo traveller and if you would have tips/advice please. Do's/don'ts... where best to eat/meet people/lively bars on board, etc. I am also a smoker, are there ample amount of places to smoke on board?

Advice on any of the excursions would be great also. I'm an experienced diver & can't wait to dive in some of the most beautiful waters in the world. Would I be best looking into things like this myself or book through the cruise liner?

I will be on somewhat of a budget so I want to pack as much in as possible without absolutely breaking the bank!

Is it worthwhile buying the Ultimate Drinks package? Although, I believe not all drinks are included? Is it possible to drink the water on board or must it be bottled water only?

Appreciate the advice & if anyone happens to be setting sail the same date, I'd only be too delighted to meet for a drink!

    Thanks again

    Keith
