  1. Perhaps it's something as simple as the cruising population have found a better/different option than Regent??? Looking at all the recent awards that Viking Ocean cruises have won perhaps people are finding a better option.......Viking are also all inclusive for meals and brand new ships which are very light and airy!!!

Just a thought........those Viking passengers have had to come from somewhere and I don't just think it's new passengers to cruising!!!

  2. Hi everyone... we have just heard back re itinerary change via our TA and the reason given and I quote " this change was made due to environmental regulations in California limiting numbers of calls to vessels not connecting to shore power..........end of quote!!!!!

Exactly what that means Im not sure but that's their answer..........

One unhappy cruiser as that was our only opportunity to see SD as we won't be travelling to that part of the world again!!:(:(

    Thanks for all your help...

  3. We are actually sailing north to San Francisco from SD so don't know whether that will make any difference to 4th July celebrations and fireworks at sea??

Guess it will be what it will be but another sea day even though we love them wasn't our preferred option!!!!

Looks like an early start with a champagne breakfast for the birthday boy now!!!!:):):):):):):

  4. Thanks for all the input....as we are travelling from Australia thought the "locals" on cc would have some feasible explanation!!! Quite disappointed as SD was one port we really wanted to go into especially as DH Birthday and we thought we would have a birthday lunch at a nice restaurant with the friends we are travelling with....oh well not much can be done......DH has rung the Regent office in Australia and they are contacting head office to ask why and what compensation we will get????????? Fine print says basically they can do whatever they like.......as first time Regent cruises perhaps our last if that's how things are done!!!!!!!

    Shall keep you updated!!!!!!

Many thanks for all the comments.:mad::mad:

  5. Hi All.

We are booked on Navigator for the Miami to Vancouver cruise departing 17th June and have just been advised by our travel agent that we are no longer stopping in San Diego and instead have an "extra" sea day.

No reason has been given and just wondering if anyone can shed any light on why this has been changed....this change has been advised just after we have paid our FINAL payment..........:mad::mad::mad::mad:

    Many thanks for any input!!!!

  6. Once again thanks everyone for the responses.

Until 15 months ago we lived in Brisbane, Queensland which was very hot and humid but now live in a hot dry climate with cold winters.

Quite simply if we find it too hot will stay in the a/c!!!

On a different subject, any suggestions for things to do in Miama as we have 3 nights there prior to embarking??

Know it's off subject but thought no harm in asking..........

    Many thanks

  7. Many thanks to those who have responded in a positive way and hopefully we can "forget" the negativity and have a great cruise!!!!

A question for those from the states, should we expect a hot and humid Miama for the start of the cruise mid June???

We will be leaving Australia in mid winter so hard to imagine a hot and humid climate!!!

    Many thanks

  8. I am assuming the above posts are referring to the June 2017 Panama Canal cruise as we are also booked on that cruise in a Navigator suite (936) and are becoming increasingly concerned about the negative reports of the ship. Unfortunately flying from Australia with business air fares locked in, we are not in a position to change this cruise to a different ship.

Should we continue to be concerned as the excitement/anticipation is slowly waning!!!!!!!!! We have previously sailed on Oceania and Azamara ( which is a tad bigger than Navigator) however the reports of the state of the ship and vibrations are become very real concerns......it is a long way to fly from Australia and be disappointed especially with the cost of the cruise for us which is heaps more than you lucky folk from US have to pay.!!!!!!!

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated..........
