  1. Both the metro and the airport train run at night and some busses has night schedules. But if you land at 10 PM then most services runs at the normal evening schedule, the night schedule usually starts at around midnight and 1 AM.

You have 2 options for traveling to Steel House that are located very close to Vesterport S-train station.

If you take the metro you just get off at Nørreport and take any southbound S-train one stop further to Vesterport.

Or if you take the airport train you get off at København H (central station) walk to track 9 and 10 and take any northbound S-train one stop further to Vesterport.

Can you tell me this in reverse (going from vesterport station to the airport it will be 6 am if this makes any difference. We have pretty much figured out the busses in Copenhagen but the metro/trains are still tricky for me!

  2. We haven't cruised on NCL before, but on 2 princess cruises we used walkie talkies to communicate with the kids. They could just let us know when they were changing locations, or we could tell them where to meet us. They were not good for long conversations but would work for "meet me ____ at 2pm." kind of things

  3. I'm not even sure where to post this.

We're currently booked on the Norwegian Bliss for 2019 for an Alaskan cruise. It's my parents 50th wedding anniversary so they're taking my family and my brother and his wife along. :) Myself, my husband and our son (will be 9 when we cruise to Alaska) have sailed Carnival and Disney (complete opposites, I know). My parents have cruised Holland twice and commented how they were some of the youngest on the ship...they'll be 70 when we go to Alaska. My brother and his wife have never cruised, but do enjoy all-inclusive resorts.

What would you suggest for the best line for our family? Disney is out as the prices for Alaska are just ridiculous. My mom doesn't think Holland is a good fit as it is geared to a more senior crowd. We need something fun for our son, but not a huge party atmosphere because that's just not my parents cup of tea (they're footing the bill).

I *think* we'll be fine on Norwegian, but just wanting to make sure we didn't miss something. The Bliss is a brand new ship with some really fun features, but does it draw a party crowd, similar to Carnival? I've heard great things about Royal Caribbean. I've heard great things about Princess.

Our travel agent said Norwegian built this ship specifically for Alaska. Then my son saw the go-cart and laser tag, so my mom booked it. He's their only grandchild. ;) None of us have ever sailed Norwegian but the ship looks amazing! I tend to second guess everything and this is a lot of money. Just want to make sure we picked correctly.

We took a family cruise to Alaska (bill footed by my dad) on Princess. It was fabulous. Ages: 78, 76, 55, 45, 43, 40, 15, 13, 10, 7, 7. There was stuff for all of us. Not a party ship but plenty to do for the kids (lots of kids because school was out- so they made friends in the kids club and then hung out outside of the club) Plenty of trivia for the older people. More formal dining than NCL which appealed to the elders.

  4. We don't do many European cruises just because we have no interest in driving one or two hours to visit a place.

One easy European cruise we did take was the Adriatic out of Venice' date=' ending in Rome.

At most of the ports we could get off the ship and walk into town.

If you find such a schedule to your liking, you could google the ports and see what would be interesting to your kids

We are taking our grandkids (5 and 7)this summer to Alaska. We plan to get off at each port and find something easy to get to that will be interesting for the children.[/quote']

We did this 2 summers ago and a couple of ports on our alaska cruise had Jr. Ranger programs that were fantastic for my kids (6 & 9 at the time)

  5. Our plane lands at 10pm, does public transportation run all night? We will be 2 adults and 3 kids (10,10 and 13 years old). We will be getting the Copenhagen Card, and staying at The Steel House. So as I understand it Public transportation will be free, but how easy is it to navigate at night with 3 kids and luggage? We will be arriving on July 24th if that makes a difference. Thanks for any insight!
