  1. It should be possible but it's going to be tight depending on when your ship leaves. We docked at Sami so it was super easy to do the whole thing in under 3 hours with a taxi that we hired at the pier. However from Argostoli you have at least a 40 minute drive out to either site. It's an additional 15 minutes between the two sites so figure 2 hours of driving. The Cave is on the way to the Lake so you could go there on the way there or on the way back. I don't think it really matters which one you do first as both stay open late.

We got to the Lake before the tour buses so we didn't have to wait to get on a boat. There was a limited number of boats that each could hold about a dozen people. The tour took about 20-30 minutes. You'll be getting there in the afternoon so figure a bit of a wait to get on a boat, say 60 minutes total.

The Caves were a completely DIY affair. The driver dropped us off, we bought tickets and wandered down into the caves. You could probably walk the entire direct circuit in 30 minutes. I think we spent about 60 minutes in total since we took every side path and photo opportunity available.

Add that all up and you have a 4 hour tour. Hope this helps.

    Great help.. Thank you.

  2. Hi. This is the reply I got from the butterfly farm.

"The admission is $15. for adults, $8. for children age 4-16, and children age 3 and under are free. The admission includes a tour of the Farm, where you see the eggs, caterpillars, pupa and over 40 species of butterflies. The tour lasts about 25 minutes. We are open 7 days a week at 8:30am , and the last tour of the day is 4pm . You never wait more than 10-15 minutes for a tour. We also have a great gift shop with a wide range of butterfly items; including funky t-shirts, butterfly gardening books and sterling silver jewelry made with real butterfly wings.

An added bonus is the Bird Sanctuary directly behind us and spectacular Palm Beach is across the street."

This is what we plan to do in December.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Hi Maggie

We've just booked this cruise today too. If you want to share taxis we may be up for it or we may take the local buses if there's any. Been to Aruba and it was beautiful but not experienced Bonaire or Curacao. We'll be heading for the beaches most days ... can't wait!

E tickets arrived today so even more excited. Been busy today researching beaches but going around in circles. Al part of the fun!!

  4. Hi,we did a lovely tour on an open style bus on Curaçao which included visiting the distillery. We stayed at the beach for a couple of hours along with some others and the bus came back to pick us up.We loved the town, really interesting streets and markets.

We also did a similar tour on Aruba including seeing the Natural bridge on the Atlantic side which was stunning. Also we got dropped off at the beach and collected later.Very windy here!

On Bonaire we booked a Twizy tour(roadrunner website) which was amazing, then were taken to the beach for snorkelling and sunbathing.I booked this by email from home and paid on the day.

I really love these gorgeous islands!

Thank you Pinktulipshopping (love the name).

Do you recall how much your tours cost? With the dollar being so low trying to work out how much we need to take?
