  1. I just got back from a 4 night Bahamas cruise on the Disney Magic, but I didn't keep the Navigators unfortunatelt because we relied heavily on the app. From what I recall, the only scheduled toddler-specific activity that they had was "toddler time". Basically, they sectioned off an area of the Promenade Lounge (I believe that's what it is called) and had a cast member there with toddler/baby toys that kids could use to play with parents or other kids. Other than that, the kid clubs have daily open house sessions, and there are character meet and greets everywhere at all times of the day (which are posted in the Navigator). I was hoping for some early morning activities because our LO is an early riser, but they didn't have any.

  2. You can get a vest there free of charge. I just got back from a trip there on the Disney Magic (Jan 11 sail date) and found the water to be a bit chilly for snorkeling. I bought some snorkeling equipment before we left for our trip but decided last minute not to take it and just rent there if we decided to snorkel (the cost would have been the same). I'm glad now that I decided not to lug it along! We did end up renting one set of gear for our group but didn't use it much. I'm not an experienced snorkeler, and the cool water made it difficult for me for some reason to not breathe through my nose. Coming from New England, however, the warm (although slightly cloudy) weather we had was more than wonderful for lounging around the beach.

  3. On January 11, my family (husband, 18 month old son, mom, dad, sister and brother) and I will be heading out of Miami for our first ever cruise! I have a few questions that I'm hoping you can help me with!

    1) If I reserve a cruise activity (e.g. port excursion, dining) but need to cancel later on, do I incur a cancellation fee? Also, it looks like the cost of the activity is charged only once on board, is that an accurate assumption?

    2) I've read that you can bring your own snorkeling equipment for Castaway Cay-are there certain specifications that I should be aware of before purchasing the equipment?

I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions as I dig deeper into the planning process! Any tips that you may have would be very much appreciated!
