  1. Hello, it's specific to the atvs only. The language is on the land excursions for cruise ships page and reads:

    Super confortable 650cc Buggys with automatic drive offering 2*to 4 seaters ( 2 people max 400lbs, 4 people max 600lbs). Yamaha semi-automatic ATV (2 people max*300lbs)

Here is the link but im not sure it will post per forum rules:

    http://www.proexcursionsbayahibe.com/snorkling-tours/tours/la-romana-land-activities-for-cruise-ships.aspx

I just noticed the atvs are "semi automatic", so there is no way I will be able to drive my own. I have never driven a manual tranny vehicle before. I've never driven an atv either so for me it's double or nothing (haha).

When they say semi automatic its nothing really. There's no clutch or anything. You simply gear up with your foot. They are VERY easy.

  2. Did you happen to see people riding the ATVs through Pro Excursions? We are interested in that, however I want to ride tandem, rather than drive my own atv.

Maybe the dune buggy is better for us?

We had ATV's in our group too. 2 were double, 1 was single rider. Does that help?

  3. Looking to book this excursion. How long was it in total? Carnival offers it stating it's a 3 hour duration. I am going to book with Pro Excursion but am curious about their duration.

    Thanks,

    dduckieg

Originally it was 9:15-3:00 (back on ship by 4:00) but our itinerary changed the week before we sailed by leaving an hour earlier so they had us back by 3:00. You are physically on the dune buggy's from approximately 11:00-2:00. But there was travel time to and from Pro Excursions as well as registering time and travel time to the buggy's as they are at a separate location.

Due to us leaving an hour earlier we lost the beach time at the end. Which was fine.

  4. I agree. I think they just want to fill the cabins. This time last year we had a $700 OBC, this year (so far) $0. I also noticed while checking for my daily price drops, the available cabins for a 4 person is the exact same room number for a 2 person. We have a 4 person balcony 8B and a 2 person balcony 8B. The same cabins numbers pop up as available. This wasn't the case earlier and just started the last couple of months in our situation. My theory to this is, they don't care how they sell it as long as they sell it. Makes it that much harder for OBC.

  5. Tranquilo is a great excursion. :) We just sailed with Captain Anthony for the 3rd time on Christmas Eve day. Even my Dad, who did not snorkel, had an enjoyable day out on the ocean! :)

That's great to hear!! We were looking for something a little more personal, less crowded, more family orientated where our group/family ages 11-72. Based on the reviews and what I've read, I think it will be exactly what we're looking for :)

  6. We too are in Curacao from 2pm-11pm the end of April. We are doing 2 excursions in DR and Aruba and our plan was to get off the ship, do some shopping and have a nice supper in port.

We have an early excursion the next day in Aruba so we didn't want to tire ourselves out in Curacao. I'm hoping for a nice relaxing day :) Any suggestions on a restaurant? We're a group of 11 and now I'm wondering if we would have to make reservations?

  7. Hello,

We are a family/group of 11 (ages 12-72). I thought I found the perfect excursion with Segway Tours Aruba (Segway, Sail and Snorkel) however I've just been informed they can't accommodate a group our size without splitting us up (we'd have to Segway in shifts) and we'd have to miss the sailing part of the excursion as we'd lose time from needing to be split for the Segway portion :( Sooo disappointed.

Moving onward and upward.... any suggestions for a group our size? We know we want to snorkel, beach time would be great, and have some time to do a bit of shopping/browsing. We are in Aruba 8:00-4:00 ship time and this will be our first time in Aruba.

    Thank you! :)

  8. Hello,

We have booked a 1/2 day Dune Buggy Excursion with Pro Excursions. My question is, from what I've read and the pictures I've seen you get really muddy, is there somewhere we can "clean up" before getting back on the ship?

Would love to hear from those that have taken this tour. We were really torn between the Dune Buggy Excursion & the La Romana Sea Excursions for Cruise Ships but decided to go ahead with this one as we'll be doing a water excursion in Aruba.

    Thank you!

  9. You can sign up on either the embarkment day, or the next day at the bar, after that, you missed the boat. You will pay for whatever is left in your cruise, so if you have a 6 day, and sign up day one, you pay for 6 days (about 300) if you sign up on day 2, you pay about 250, but anything you drank on the embarkment day, you pay for on it's own. Just remember until you have paid for the cheers program, you pay for every drink on it's own, even if you order a drink at the bar when waiting to sign up.

I know that I drink the most on the embarkement day, so my first stop will be the bar to sign up, since I enjoy having the DOD the moment I get to the lido deck while waiting for my room to be ready, and typically keep drinking them till my room is ready.

If you drink more than 50.00 worth of alcohol a day. it's worth it ( IE if you drink more than 300 for the whole cruise, get the program)

That's good to know. I was just coming here to ask for clarification because I just read on another post that if you purchase day 2 (you are still charged for the entire cruise) and they will credit back any day 1 drinks you purchased.

  10. NOT impressed that as a Canadian, I am unable to purchase these since their drop down window doesn't support any provinces - only US states.

Ugh!! This is VERY irritating...I really wanted to give my parents a Gift Card for Christmas for onboard spending :( I wonder if this is something we could buy from a local travel agent?
