I think you are correct.  For 2023 cruises the drink packages have changed and it is no longer a "Classic Unlimited Drink Package" as the basic package.  Included will only include at meal time.  I am cruising Nov. 2022 and it is still the Classic Unlimited Drink Package.

The real question for you is do you get the Classic Unlimited Drink Package if you booked prior to them making the change or do all of the 2023 cruises revert to the new drink policy.  only way to know is to see what shows on your account.

I booked under the old rate before they made the change, my booking also says Unlimited Classic drink package included. I assume they will honor this….

did you already book under the old rate, or the new rate?   Under the new rate, it appears the classic drinks are "optional" based on what you purchase, adn if you upgrade the drinks.  It is no longer inclusive it appears.

My booking still shows that the drink package is included.

  3. Been looking at recent photos and noticed quite a bit of rust on Conquest's hull, around the anchor and doors. Looks awfull! Anyone know if they will clean this up soon??? Will be on her end of Feb. get a $2 corkscrew, ot you could rent their $15 corkscrew 😄, actually you can go to any bar and they will open your wine, give a tip

Thanks, no worries here, got plenty of corkscrews at home in can bring. The bar staff will get enough of my tips as it is (don’t have Cheers!!).35 days to go!

The people in the MDR have no idea where you purchased that wine. You could have purchased at one of their bars and brought it in. Unless you are asking them to open it they will probably not take notice.

So the corkage fee applies only applies when you request a server to open it?

YES, and yes, of course you can open a bottle in your room and bring it to the DR or anywhere you want. You can share your wine with anyone you choose.

So what you are claiming is; I can walk on the ship with a bottle of wine in my carry-on, open it myself in my room, bring the full bottle to the Main Dining room to drink, and they wont’t charge me the $15 corkage fee?

  7. 4 hours ago, coevan said:

yes you can, open it in the cabin and there will not be a corkage fee. We have never been charged.

You can’t open the bottle of wine in your room and bring to MDR for dinner. The OP is asking if can share a bottle bought on ship at dinner.

I know with the cheers package we can't share drinks.  But if I have cheers can I purchase a bottle of wine at dinner can I share the bottle with other family members (over 21) that do not have cheers.

    Thanks

With the Cheers package (bottled wine not included), you get 25% off the price of a bottle of wine. Since you are paying for the bottle, I believe you will able to share. There’s nothing on Carnival’s website that says otherwise. Also, Carnival allows each adult to carry on one bottle of wine ($15 corkage fee if drank in MDR), you can surely share that!

Sorry for the newbie questions, I'm sure they have been asked tons of times and I tired searching the forum for answers but I find the search tool on this updated form pretty useless. :classic_sad:

So I'm wondering, can I pre-purchase OBC and use it for things on board, and if I don't use it all, cash it out at the casino or desk? I've done this on RCI, makes it nice to have some money in my OB account

and second, is, are we allowed to bring any wine/soda/water on board pre-cruise?

    thanks!

At the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day only, each guest (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750 ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne per person in their carry-on luggage.

A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, juice, and milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought on board on embarkation day and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person.

    No still water is allowed.

As for OBC, you can purchase “Cruise Cash” from Carnival website that is automatically applied to your room or you can buy “Gift Cards” that you can transfer to your room account at check-in.

March can be cold and best to anticipate it ,,, not to mention the possibilities of snow.

You cannot really predict March weather. We had a blizzard in 1947 and temperatures in the 80's in 1998.

This week we have had temperatures in the teens to the 30's.

I guess that's why the price is low, the possibity of cold weather leaving and returning to New York. We still can enjoy everything that's indoors! NCL website is showing a price of $3233usd for a family of 4, balcony, gratuities and drink packages, what do you think?

  13. I am thinking of getting a depature from New York City (never tried it) for March break 2020 to the Bahamas. I am afraid of what the weather will be like the first week of March, what is your experience leaving New York in the Spring? We are afraid we will not enjoy the first sea day going down and the last coming back because of the cold??? Any feedback would help....

    Thanks

NO..the tour is posted to your onboard sail n sign account. What you can do instead, is go to guest services and deposit that cash into your sail n sign account (or use the nearby kiosk)

Great, thanks. Didn’t think of doing that!
