One thing you can do to help make embarkation a little faster is to do your online check-in as soon as it opens up. When you log in to your Cruise Manager, click on the Planner tab at the top and it'll show you the exact date your online check-in opens. It'll open at midnight eastern time on that date, give or take a few minutes. That will allow you to pick an early Arrival Appointment and get one of the first general boarding zones that begin boarding right after all the priority passengers. I don't know how it is in San Diego, but there are ports on the east coast that are very good at boarding. We sailed out of Miami back in March with FTTF. They called us, we made our way up an escalator to the second level walkway that leads to the gangway and overlooks the waiting area. It only took a couple minutes to reach that point and they were already calling zone A-3. It won't help you when it comes to the other perks that FTTF offers, but if you get one of those first boarding zones, it'd at least get you onboard not long after priority.

Honestly, the priority boarding is really the only perk we care about, so this is GREAT info! We also discussed that, for the first time we are staying with friends the night before rather than in a hotel, so they can drop us off a little later to avoid the lines of everyone getting there early.

  2. Hi everybody! I'm booked on Carnival Miracle in October, and from what I understand, FTTF is not available out of San Diego. It doesn't show up as an excursion option but did show up in my cruise manager as recommended for me. I was able to add it to my cart but I am skeptical. Does anyone know if FTTF is actually a thing in San Diego, or is this a website issue (and/or Carnival taking my money LOL)? Thanks so much in advance!
