  1. Thank you all! I did really want two bathrooms though we share one when we do DisneyWorld. I was thinking the crown loft suite would be okay with just the one bedroom as it had an upstairs you could get away and two bathrooms but alas they are gone. I would have been willing to fork over the money they look so amazing! On the bright side now we can do a short Disney Dream cruise later. Being a disney fanatic it was my first choice but kids wanted Royal Caribbean and it'll be neat to do both and compare. I'm very excited for this new family experience. We've done 4 DisneyWorld, 3 Disneyland and 3 universal studio Florida trips as a family. Exciting to be doing something different, and I really do appreciate the opinions from the experienced! Thanks again! :)

  2. Great! I currently have 2 side by side deck nine hump balcony oceanview balcony rooms reserved on the Harmony as my daughter really wanted the ship she saw on the commercials. Thank you for the confirmation that's a good choice! The difference right now b/w two large balcony oceanview rooms with the 60% off second person and one grand suite with all four of us in the same room (including the 60 and 30% offs) is $5K on the Harmony. We could take another cruise for that! All of the family cabins are booked out as are the crown loft cabins which we really wanted.

  3. Hi! I had planned and picked out a cruise and then school calendars came out and I had to move up our cruise to this summer. Now, I'm once again pondering what to choose. I will have a then 10 year old daughter and 13 year old son travelling with myself and husband (who's 6'5"). I worry about him and bumping his head on doorways! ;-) What I need help with deciding is it better to fly somewhere and get a hotel for a night and spend that extra money on your trip and then not get the concierge level but still have the 2 ocean view balcony rooms with large balconies (side by side though not connecting inside) so that we can ride on the newest biggest ship which has the purple body slide, the puzzle room and the zipline and water diving acrobatic shows but also a much bigger crowded ship OR just driving to Galveston (we live in Austin) and not having to get a hotel and getting to stay in an Owner's suite all together getting use of the Concierge Lounge, etc. and have a smaller less crowded ship but slightly less activities on board for my pre-teen and teen. Thanks for any input. This is our first family cruise, and everyone else's first cruise ever. I have only been on one Princess Alaskan cruise a very very long time ago before kids and hubby!

  4. Thank you so much 39august. Those all sound like really great reasons to go Liberty but what wins me over is the mention of free wine. ;) I believe they have even added a third water slide to Liberty as well just recently. My daughter wanted to do the body slide and zip lining but I feel like there must be better zip lining on the shore excursions anyway! I will take your advice and it's much appreciated.

  5. Hi,

Within our budget is either a Superior Ocean View Room with Balcony on Harmony of the Seas or a Grand Suite with Balcony on Liberty of the Seas. I have a 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter who saw the ads with the Harmony of the Seas and wanted to do that ship. Is it worth the smaller living space for the bigger/newer ship with more to do? I struggle because my daughter and I are very active and busy travelers while my son and hubby prefer to lounge in the room.

    Thanks!

  6. Hi! I am trying to decide b/w these two ships and need some help. I have a budget of around $6K and I live in Texas within driving distance to Galveston. I want to take a cruise in Mid-December of next year (right after school lets out) with my family that will include at that time a 13 year old boy and a 10 year old thrill seeking girl. My options in my budget including for flights if we take Harmony of the Seas out of Ft Lauderdale are: 1) a Grand Suite with Balcony on Liberty of the Seas which is Concierge, 400 sq feet, with a full size bathroom or 2) a Superior Ocean View Room with Balcony with 182 sq feet of living space, a smaller bathroom and no concierge service on Harmony of the Seas. I see the Pros of the Harmony of the Seas as 1) newer ship, 2)more things to do including the body slide, the outdoor acrobatic show, 3)carrousel for my daughter, 4)zip line. Are there more than these four activities that I'm not aware of that Harmony has that Liberty doesn't? The ports of call on Harmony are Eastern Caribbean islands and Labadee. I feel like as adults we'd prefer Harmony of the Seas for the itinerary as it appears less commercial but the children would probably prefer the Western Caribbean Itinerary on the Liberty. It seems there are many more excursions in the Western Caribbean that my children would prefer aka outdoors, active type things like zip lining, bigger beaches, dolphin swims, etc. So I'm leaning towards the Liberty of the Seas because of the larger living space, the western Caribbean itinerary for the children and the ability to drive to the port so don't have to worry about late flights or spending the night in hotels around the cruise. But I know my daughter was very impressed with the commercials showing the Harmony of the Seas boat itself. Is the bigger boat worth it? Thanks!

PS I should add my husband is concerned with the higher crime rates in the western Caribbean countries vs the eastern.
