Downtown St Thomas looked very sad when we were there in March. It was close to closing time but still....

I’m a travel agent. The only short cruise I see looking quickly, is RCCL with 4 night cruises out of San Juan. There are 7 night cruises out of Barbados and St. Maarten.

Well, I count 24 countries not 21[emoji3]. More to visit. I’ve been to 16 listed. Thru the Panama Canal 3 times. I think that’s my favorite. I do love San Juan, but also because my college roommate was from PR so I have great memories from my visits. There have been many changes to these islands from when I first visited.

In the past, we left our passports with guest services and picked up the last night all stamped. It’s been a while tho and not on these monster size ships.

Every cruise I’ve been on provided towels, including NCL Dawn. Just bring it back, some lines say they’ll charge you if you don’t bring it back. I always have some kind of cover for restaurants, shoes etc...I hate being cold. Have fun!

Thank you all. Leaning towards the NCL Bliss or Getaway. Like Carnival Conquest itinerary the best but I didn’t care for Carnival last time, about 12-15 yrs ago.

Looking at January 5,2019. Do you think there would be enough “kids” his age? Enough to entertain? DH and I just off Regal and we loved it but didn’t see many his age. Also looked at Carnival Conquest-8 day and liked the itinerary but a bit nervous about carnival-not great experience 15 yrs ago. NCL Getaway was my 1st choice but having some 2nd thoughts. We all had a blast last Summer on Dawn but the “ boys” want to try something bigger/newer. I’m over thinking this.... help.... thoughts?!

Princess Cay does have a beach, a place to rent water equipment, large dining hall for burgers/dogs etc, bars, bathrooms, souvenir shops. You have to tender in.

As cruise4kicks said, can’t you just walk into your local Town Hall and get a walkers id? You may have to bring birth certificate.

Thanks all. I’m guessing the days of buying alcohol in the Caribbean are over. It was a random thought this afternoon but you are correct, not worth the hassle. I was at Total Wine the other day and they have plenty of Caribbean brands. I can buy here and pass off as souvenirs. [emoji3]

In the distant past, I would buy alcohol in St. Thomas, etc and it would be delivered to the ship before it sailed. You would get those telltale boxes the final night. At that time you could carryon the plane those boxes or check(?) the box with luggage. How do you take it home now? I don’t want to pay for an extra bag.
Thanks

Down the street from Modern Pastry is Mikes Pastry. You will see people walking around with their white Mikes boxes tied with red/white string. We could start quite the debate Modern or Mikes. Get a cannoli in both and decide for yourself. ( we always go to Mikes[emoji3])

Tamtot, it is not a beach. I believe ( never been) a scenic lookout on top of a mountain. There is/ was a tram to the top with a bar and shop(?). For some reason I want to say great banana daiquiris.

Not sure if it was our carrier or luck or different cruise line but I I was able to Text my DS20 for free last year. Both have iPhones.

You can not wonder around St. Petersburg on your own unless you get a Visa. You can take either a ship tour or arrange a private tour with a local reputable tour company. We used Alla but there a a few.

So, am I to understand that during the day, poolside, they show movies or concerts everyday? Is there ever a band or pool games or something ?

How do you know what food day it is? Sushi, Italian, Chocolate etc. I didn’t notice it on the dailies.

Based on the past 2 M &M’s I’ve coordinated ( NCL, princess), you should have a M&M coordinator. The ship will let the coordinator know when and where. Your group leader should then post the info on your roll call. Did you join your Roll Call? With our Roll Call group, we also arranged for our own M&M. Usually after the safety drill in one of the lounges.
