I searched on Atlantis' website but did not find the entrance fee for the aquarium - can anyone tell me what it is? I know I can book it thru Carnival, but sometimes other sites offer it discounted.

Also, can anyone tell me what the cost is for the water taxi that will get us over to Atlantis? TIA!

John Heald told me two weeks ago on the glory that the Splendor will be doing the cruise out of Norfolk in 2018. He said three of them will be to Bermuda.

Has anyone visited the Grand Lucayan recently, specifically the Lighthouse Point Daypass area? I'm reading some conflicting reviews online about which part is open, how much damage is still there, etc. We're looking to book the daypass since it's cheap and looks to be a relaxing location while in Freeport. But, I'm not reading many reviews from people that have gone there recently and unsure what to decide!

We turned down the same upgrade, same cost, and same location for the same reasons - we'll have our 2 kids, and they could care less about the room size.

And like another poster said - I can find better things to spend that extra $$$ on with it being a short cruise!

Pull up your booking on Carnival's website, and go to where it says Manage / Explore / Plan... I believe that's where we were able to pull up sample menu's for the Steak House and the MDR's - i think under Explore/Dining Options. You have to really take the time to look for it but they are on there. Also, if you pull up the Steakhouse reservation area, you can look at the menu there.

Not sure if it's there for 3-day sailings, but we did find it for Liberty's 4-day sailing.

Yes - and I did not realize that (first time doing this).. the nice woman in customer service that I spoke to explained it all to me, so I understand now. But thank you for mentioning that!

In the meantime, the upsell phone call came last night - we could have a suite for $340 more. As much as I would have liked that, we are happy with the balcony and I can find a few better ways to spend that amount of money.

DENIED. Why? Because the requesting cruise rate is being offered in a lower category.

Ok - but - that's the category we originally purchased, prior to purchasing an upgrade.

There was a phone number on the denial so I just called and asked which requirement did I not meet. The person who answered the phone saw the lower price and granted the price drop. I lost my $50 onboard credit but I saved $94 so I was fine with that.

I'm glad to hear it worked out in your favor after all. Still waiting to hear on my end...good grief! How long can it actually take to review?!

I submitted a price protection form on Thursday afternoon and received my denial this morning. I still clearly see where the price has drop but Carnival does not.

And that's what I'm afraid of as well. Have you tried calling their customer service directly and speaking with someone? What was their reasoning for the denial?

As an alternative to submitting the form, I've had success calling Carnival as soon as I see the lower price and it is adjusted right away. The customer service rep then sends me an email with the updated price and noted OBC earned.

I'm wishing I called instead, as they are still reviewing my claim - and it could take up to 7 days, ugh!

Is this something I have to wait until we're on board to sign up for? I don't see an area on Carnival.com to register/pay ahead of time.

Yes, I booked early saver and my booking receipt shows the higher amount than the rate they have now.

Thanks for your answers - I've never done the price protection form so I just wanted to get some input (in case I wasn't thinking it out right). Just waiting to hear back from Carnival now!

Since I'm not familiar with the process of submitting a price protection form, here is my question:

We originally booked a category 8B balcony, for $1076. We then paid $20 for an upgrade to a 8D category balcony. Now, there is a CarnivalDays Saver that dropped the price to $1056, that includes a 2 category upgrade included.

So, my brain tells me that we paid $1096 total for a cabin we could now get for $1056 - correct? So I submitted a form for the $40 difference (as an OBC).

Do they usually agree with my kind of logic, or will they deny it most likely?

$40 isn't much - but it's a few alcoholic beverages, and we like them :)

I just read that your sister did the Seuss at Sea breakfast - overall, did she enjoy it? It's on our list (for my 3yr old) and I'm excited about, but rarely read comments about it anywhere.

And how was the weather overall - warm enough to get some color? I've read that the beaches will be chilly, but still hoping for warmth!

Thinking of booking a Spa treatment while on the Liberty next month, but was curious to know if they offer a discount or promo special if you book during the Spa tour.

Anyone have any experience with this, on any ship? Thanks!

No idea why, but the same was changed on our Liberty sailing for 2/26. They just added 1 excursion for Freeport. Still hoping they'll change it to Princess Cays, but probably won't. I keep checking to see if anyone reviee's a recent Liberty sailing and posts the Fun Times...

Looking for something to do once we're in Freeport, and not sure if we just want to "wing it", get a day pass, or stay on the ship. Who has been to Grand Lucayan, and what are your thoughts? TIA :)

Been there 5x now...none of the above things happened nor were the above prices quoted to me either.

 

Obviously your experience can vary from day to day..but that is not the norm based on my experiences.

 

I am heading back there in 13 days and will post how it was for me.

I'm patiently awaiting to see what you have to say, since I'll be there in 40 days and am unsure of what our plan is when we get off in Nassau. Looking forward to your "review"!

Are we allowed to bring an umbrella stroller on board the carnival breeze? How much do they charge to rent one? TIA :)

On some ships you CAN rent a stroller (I was going to rent on Liberty for our sailing), for a small fee AND a $75 deposit. I didn't want to take the chance of them saying "oh, you cracked a wheel" so we purchased ours from Walmart online for $26.00 - Kohlcraft, black, holds up to 40lbs.

I received around five emails as well. A bit much. I was hoping one today might have switched out Freeport for Half Moon Cay :p

Ha! I received 9 total, all with the same info...but like you I was crossing my fingers they would have dumped Freeport! Never been to Half Moon Cay, so I'd welcome that (or anywhere other than Freeport).

Yep, that was the change. Check your spam and you might find the email. I got it around 10 last night, then again at 4:30am this morn.

Anyone know if Liberty will dump the Freeport stop prior to the time frame that was mentioned (I think April/May)? I was hoping we'd end up at Princess Cays on our 2/26 sailing instead of Freeport. One can hope, right?! :)

I'm on the 2/26 Liberty sailing as well..we just received an email from Carnival tonight regarding the itinerary change. It still lists Freeport, so I'm assuming we'll still be heading there (just a different day than originally planned).

And yes, originally there were excursions listed for Freeport but with the change of itinerary they have removed them. My thinking is that since they've now notified cruisers about the change they will start adding the excursions back again.

My hope was for Princess Cays too, but doesn't look like we'all end up there :(
