No. Three times now in NOLA there are people waiting outside the port entrance and they will call time slots and then let people in based on their actual arrival time and not before. There's an area where cars pull in to drop off baggage, and the people are waiting on the wall along there. Of course if someone is Diamond, Platinum or have purchased FTTF they can enter the port when they arrive.
Thanks for the info. We usually get there early and sit inside (Florida) so we will plan to get there "JUST in TIME" to get called in.

More specific. New Orleans. If we get to the terminal and Park BEFORE our 11:30am Arrival Appointment Time as indicated on the ticket. Will we be able to go INSIDE the building and wait or will we be outside the terminal building. We leave in a week. (January) Could be cool waiting outside. Thank you in advance.

Do we need to request Bathrobes on the Carnival Dream Now. They use to be in the room when you arrived. Has anyone experienced recently this change and which Ships. What is the procedure if you would like one in your room upon arrival? Thank you in advance

Leaving in a week on the Carnival DREAM. We have never sailed out of New Orleans. We normally park in the Port Cruise ship parking garage (Florida) as we can get in and OUT very quickly. I would still like to park under cover. So reading all these reviews on Fulton St Garage. I'm thinking my saving won't be as much as parking in the Port Cruise ship parking. Anyone traveled in the last few weeks and used Fulton Garage? Some of the reviews are pretty discouraging and scary. Thank you in advance for any feedback

Ha! Thanks everyone - appreciate the feedback. So - I will choose both warm and cool weather outfits for sail away! Just adds to the fun, yes?

We have a cruise scheduled January 14th out of New Orleans. Can anyone advise me of the weather during mid-January? Is it cold for sail away and at what point would we start to feel tropical temps?
We have a cove balcony and love it, have sailed the Dream once before. Any comments from recent cruisers would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Hmmm...I am booked on the Paradise Feb 12 to 17. When exactly will the dry dock happen?

Regarding the tip issue, can someone clarify the Carnival policy for me? I understand that whenever you give additional tips, the money has to go into a pot and is then further distributed. How does this help your room steward? If you doesn't report it, his job is in jeopardy. If he does turn it in, he did not receive what you intended him to get for his good service. Is this really how the tip program works or am I misled?

Just learned that my guarantee inside cabin has now been assigned to cabin 8215. This is a 4F category and everything I read states it has a sitting area with a sofa, but none of the diagrams show a sofa. Would appreciate any information on this cabin category please. Thanks!

We Camped in the New Orleans area this past Spring and Loved the City (soooo much to do and History) Take the Natchez River Boat tour before your Carnival Trip. We found our favorite Carnival Ship "DREAM" goes out of there. (the Dream has the "COVE" Balcony which is on the second deck right on the water where you can see Flying fish and the sea turtles, fish close up) Soooo we "BOOKED IT" we leave next week. Will post from our trip. NOTE: Find parking and use the transit system as parking is very expensive in downtown. Our Hotel is across the river and we will take the ferry over $2 each way pp. and then use the Bus/Trolley system to sight see before we leave. ENJOY . . . .
