What about jackets for men at dinner?

I assume the same rules apply for jean jackets as jeans; or actually jean jackets would probably be allowed, but jeans are questionable depending on the maitre d

On a cruise line that can fill it's just announced held aside world cruise slots in under a month since announcement and fills most of its prime cabins on unique/unusual itineraries within days of announcement (plus is building two new ships), I doubt they (Oceania) has to worry about an eroding passenger base.

All of the lines have to worry about it and it’s why all of the main stream lines have already done away with formal attire (including Oceania who got rid of formal nights). They have to look forward 10-20 years from now when they need the younger generations to supplant the baby boomers. And this is generally what the younger generations want.

If the dress code was stringently enforced (i.e., the banning of jeans in GDR and specialties) and they dumped that stupid new allowance for baseball caps earlier in the day at Terrace and GDR, I'd book an extra cruise!

And Oceania would have difficulty filling cruises and lose out on younger cruisers

Here is a set of measurements of the internet speeds I made on the Sirena on the December 7-14, 2019 Coastal Cruise in Stateroom 8055:

WiFi connectivity (tablet to router) was reasonably stable at 115 Mbs (WiFi Analyzer app).

Connection from the ship's server to a SpeedOf.me server on the Internet was quite variable:  Download speeds ranged from 0.2 to 0.7 Mbs;  Upload speeds ranged from 0.4 to 1.5 Mbs.  Latency hovered around 2 seconds!!!! Internet speeds included the WiFi link, but that was so fast compared to the internet speed it has no impact.

This was only one day's measurements and only from one stateroom, so YMMV.

Was the WiFi slow on board? Did you have the upgraded package? Going in January and I do a fair amount of email and voip calls. Thanks!

  5. I am going on the Sirena. My travel agent called and they said jeans were allowed in the dining room and restaurants, but I am reading on here that there are complaints about this. Does anyone know if jeans are allowed? What is country club casual anyway?

  6. What is the big deal with jeans? I never wear khakis and my $200 jeans look much nicer than whatever khaki pants I have in the closet. We are going on the Sirena and i called and was told I could wear jeans in all restaurants.
