Considering that the prices are the same, I would definitely select Avignon.

 

The Marseille/Aix excursion is incredibly easy and cheap to do on your own and is therefore extremely overpriced for what you will get from RCI. At least with the Avignon excursion you get a guided tour, which you would not get if you went on your own. Also, if you compared DIY to both places, the trains to/from Avignon are clearly more expensive than to/from Aix, and the timing for the former is a little trickier as there are fewer options (though not impossible by any means). Thus, the Avignon trip is a far superior value and most likely at least (if not more) interesting than Marseille/Aix.

Anyone been on the Imperial Rome excursion? I would like to know if you get to visit the coliseum on this tour. Do you actually go inside or is this an exterior only visit?

We are looking at two of the excursions offered for Royal Caribbean in Marseleilles. Either the Panoramic Marseilles and Aix or Avignon Discovery Full Day tour. Any suggestions of one over the other?

We are staying at the Hotel Arts late May. Has anyone stayed here? How was it? Is it easy to walk to some of the tourist spots from here?
