  1. We sail on the Pearl April 18th.  Our flight will be arriving around 9:45 am and since we don't sail until 8:00 pm (back on board by 6:00 pm), the husband and I are hoping to see a sight or two. We figure by the time we collect luggage, get over to the pier and check in, we will have 4 to 6 hours to do a tiny bit of sightseeing.  From our research, it looks like Central Park and Times Square are about a mile or so from the pier.  It appears they are in opposite directions, but possibly close enough to walk to and check out in the small window of time we have.  Any thoughts on this? If you could only see one, which would you choose and why?  We have never been to NYC and realize we will only be able to see one or two things, but would still like get out and about before setting sail.  If these aren't reasonable options, any other idea's to kill some time in the afternoon? Thanks in advance!

  2. We were just notified that our bid was accepted....moved from a balcony on deck 8 to a mini suite on deck 11. I thought it would take longer to find out if it was accepted.  We are leaving on April 18th out of New York, so about 36 days.

We haven't received an email that our bid was accepted....just a notice that new cruise documents were ready and when I checked them, I noticed the new cabin number.

  3. My husband and I were looking to do this on our upcoming cruise in April, as Universal is the one park we have not been to in Florida.  Even though we have a shore excursion credit which we would use for transportation (making it pretty reasonable), we just couldn't justify the cost of the tickets for the time we would be there.  We even considered doing the express pass they offer, but again, looking at the money we would spend vs the time being there, we have decided to skip it and do an air boat ride instead.

  4. Hello,

Quick question.  My husband and I are sailing on the Pearl out of New York on April 18th.  Looking at the shore excursions on the NCL website, they do not have any listed for our last port (Port Canaveral/Orlando/Beaches). I spoke with customer service a while back and they said they just haven't been listed yet.  Is this unusual? This will be our 7th cruise, and I've never seen excursions not listed so close out to the sailing. We are interested in heading to Universal Studios that day, and really probably just need transportation.  It seems easier to do it from the cruise line (plus we have the $50 credit for shore excursions), but wonder if anyone has any other suggestions for transportation if the cruise line doesn't end up offering transfers?  It seems Uber and/or Lyft could be really expensive for a hour drive each way.  Thanks in advance!
